Sad truth is, the family back home still believes this, no matter how much my wive tells them it is not true. :(

Come on, people. It doesn't matter where do you come from. There are so many other sources of information that could validate or not what "other people say" about other countries.

Based on that - whether or not this was a joke, you can get at least one valid idea about a country before you even get there.

Hullo Ann - just checking in since you made this post ...

any word from husband #1 ?

Did you finish with husband #2 ?

Please not forget to remove any POD instructions.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Took two years of physically living in the PI to teach My fiancées family different. First time I met my future father in law...He asked me for 50,000 (dollars not Peso's) When my Fiancée had our first baby...that also helped the situation.

Ha! it is really common.. my fiance lived with me for good two and half yrs

I am juz proud he never had to worry bout' my family bec. I have lived life independently

since 18 and no one has to rely on me same way I would need to rely on them..

I can imagine though with other's cases.. but whatever it is--- it's part of our culture

helping is a good thing-- but please FILIPINA it is not your husband responsibility

to support your sister's husband and her husband's sister .. and so on and on...

too much is never a good thing..
