Visa not at pick up location

Hello people! I just want your advice on this and if this has happened to anyone on this site before. My fiancee's k1 was approved 2weeks ago and she was told to pick it up last Friday. When she got there on Friday as she was instructed to, she was told the visa was not ready and that she should call later. She called the place few times this week and there was no luck. She decided to visit the place today. On her arrival at the place, she was fortunate enough to meet one of there bosses and she was told by this guy that they haven't even received her passport and that she should go back to consulate office to ask about the delay.

I just want to know what you guys think is the reason for the delay and has this ever happened to anyone of you before?

PS: Stupid me already bought a ticket for first day of next month.

strongly suggest you call DoS Hotline (# in my profile) , get a Human, inquire for casefile status.

Also ask if the case is in Additional Processing, AP, or not in AP.

Then ask what the hold up is on delivering the visa packet.

Thank you. I just called them and I was told it is still under review and that it takes longer sometimes than predicted. Do you have any idea what can cause this?

did you ask specifically about 'additional processing' or not? Usually, if you don't ask, they don't tell. Is very strange pattern, but it is what it is.

So sorry for the delay on your wife visa. If you see on my timeline, my husband went to Victoria Islands 3 times before he was able to get his passport with the visa in it. He was told the first couple of times to call them to see if it is ready for pick up. Hope your situation is resolved very soon. All the Best.

They told me the last time I called DOS that they still worked on it today and that it is just taking longer than expected. Hopefully we will hear good news in this coming week. Thanks for your quick response!

So sorry for the delay on your wife visa. If you see on my timeline, my husband went to Victoria Islands 3 times before he was able to get his passport with the visa in it. He was told the first couple of times to call them to see if it is ready for pick up. Hope your situation is resolved very soon. All the Best.

I saw that but this one is taking longer. They haven't even received it at the pick up location. I am getting overwhelmed with this BS..

happy to hear that!!!! Yaaay.....was it at the place and they just didnt know or had the embassy not sent it over? Lagos it is always something with them

She went to Lagos consulate this morning for the the inquiry and she was told that the reason for the delay was that they needed to do some more review and that she could go back to pick up location tomorrow at 3pm to pick it up. People at Lagos consulate are nothing but bunch of bullies.

More Review are you serious?!?!?! how can they do more review after they have already approved the visa man I tell you Lagos is stuff I am in prayer at least 3 times a day over that embassy.. Happy for ya!!!!

Yes o! It is insane the way they treat we Nigerians. I will also keep you in my prayer because it takes more than just preparation to convince these people. Good luck to you too o!
