Oh there are plenty of explanations. By the time that label has been made, enough people have been left in awe at how utterly retrograde those targeted bigots (etc) have proven themselves to be.

Automatically labelling someone you don't know, who might think one thing is a bad idea, is silly. It doesn't make them a bigot at all. T

I'm really uncertain here, Paul, as to why anyone would want to label you, really. I do think, for those who ARE labelling you, that they've amassed a copious amount of time in reading your prior posts, and are having some reaction to your writing style, content, context, and 'perceived focus', in some attempt to 'figure you out'.

That's my take on it, for now. Hope you have a better VJ experience, in the future !

Well, to be fair, he flamed the Canadian forum rather harshely. He basically started off with "Hey Canada, why do you suck, and why is the U.S. so much better?". Then came the olympics gold medal hockey game. That is when he really became persona non grata by declaring that canada beating the u.s. for the gold medal was complete bullsh!t because the u.s. had beaten them in the opening round. He kept going on and on about how much of a travesty it was. Good times, very funny to see paul so hysterical in that thread.

I was blasted for pointing out "Arrogance" that Canadians called "Pride." I was only pointing out the hypocrisy. Hell, it was all over editorial columns even in Canada about how arrogant the fans were being. I only pointed it out and got blasted for it. That is what I'm talking about though. I pointed out "arrogant fans" and now all of a sudden I was labelled as hating Canada... People are quite delusional in their logic of a situation.

Paul, you can't polish a #######. It wasn't arrogance, most were commenting on how well the game was and how close, it did go into OT after all. You came in with a rudimentary understanding of the game, and you kept blathering on and on about how it was bullsh!t that Canada shouldn't have gotten the medal because the U.S. won the first meeting in the opening rounds and that it should be tied. So I suppose if the U.S. had topped the gold medal chart and had won that game, and you were congratulating the team and fans that you would be expressing your nationalism, but when other nations do it, it's arrogance? Puhhhleeze.

I agree, the word 'racist' or 'bigot' is thrown around as the trump card when someone is intolerant of a policy. My dad is forever going on about how UK immigration needs to be sorted out but hates being labelled a racist. He doesn't want people of any race just coming in and 'bringing their entire families' as he puts it.

But I have to say, in regards to yourself Paul: you might not be bigoted but you are fairly hypocritical, in my opinion. You preach about equal rights for all Americans, freedom of speech, etc... but only for born Americans, not naturalized. Which I think is pretty ignorant.

Oh it's just silly really.

There was one individual calling me a 'bigot' last night for making any argument against someone being able to wear a headscarf in the workplace. I wasn't being 'intolerant' of it at all, just pointing out the things that you can/cannot do on the job and that companies have policies to abside by. Apparently since I didn't bow down and say, "oh yes lady, you can change your mind after a couple of years and wear that head scarf" then I am a 'bigot.'

It's just iciing on the cake though of the way people have been acting the past few days on these boards... Anyone who says anything remotely against anything Muslim that is going on in the world, is an automatic 'bigot' in the eyes of some. It's silly really. It's the same idiots who say that if you oppose anything from Obama, you're a racist.
