Wow I think this was made a big deal over nothing! Both of you seemed to be having a bad day (TomD and Cedric) and just went off on each other.

Sad :( we don't want no fighting here, just sharing and giving each other SUPPORT.

Sheeesh I agree and especially no name calling (e.g. Negative Nancy). I made fun of that in a post to TomD to show that it wasn't necessary. The way I see it, one person posted his interview experience and based on that another person commented on it based on the tone of the posting. Now if the original poster/posters' spouse felt offended then that person should have said just that and perhaps clarify what he or she was trying to say in the original post. This could have just been a case of misunderstanding. There was no need for the blow up and name calling. We are all adults here and if we are upset we should all be capable of handling it better than blowing things out of proportion. The visa process is stressful enough so there shouldn't be any added stress from fighting here.

Mrs. Thomas

I also found this with regards to Guyana. Its a few years old but they still speak of new Certificates less than 6 months old. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Guyana&cty=Georgetown

Good Luck...

Yes they are crazy about the new civil docs. My husband already went and got new ones. By the time he goes to the interview the docs will be two months old. Also, pretty much everything we sent in for the IV package, my husband will have to take in as per the country-specific guidelines. But you I understand why they are doing that because there has been a lot of corruption in Guyana and there were several visa fraud cases uncovered a few years ago. So now it is harder for everyone over there wishing to come here. It can be frustrating sometimes because I know my marriage is the real deal, but my husband and I just have to go through the process like everyone else.

Thats always the rub Isn't it!!! The good always suffer for the bad ones actions. :bonk::bonk: Thats why we should not tolerate bad... Cause is may not directly hurt someone but it indirectly hurts everyone. The only people I knew or met from Guyana was when I went to Montserrat for a few weeks. Most of the folks working there were from Guyana because those that left when the Volcano evacuation occurred never came back. That was back in 2002 so things may be different now. I am sure you will be fine. Its good that you and your husband understand why they are being so strict. Its not because of you but because of those who cheat. The trouble is you cant tell the difference until after.
