Nibake,

Absolutely terrible what you have had to endure. I would do as HeatDeath and inpitb have suggested and call them to reschedule your flight. You may have to pay a change fee. As what was previously posted, second-tier managers and supervisors should be able to work with you. Spirit has gotten enough negative press lately and probably does not have an appetite for any more. Although they may not care about the bad press or any other negative reviews on sites like tripadvisor.com.

Best wishes for a good conclusion to all of this.

Ah - but you, a USC, can get in - stress 'emergency' at the door, don't stop until you get a USCitizen in front of you. YOU , solely, this time, for this afternoon.
This, from the excellent Darnell, is some of the best general advice ever provided on VJ -- the embassy or consulate is U.S. soil, and you (the USC) have every right to enter, and no foreign security guard is going to keep you out. When you seek to enter for some reason like this, you're petitioning your government for redress of grievances.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi, i'm sorry to hijack this thread but i have a question. I recently passed my interview in London and have recieved the visa back in my passport which i and my fiancee are over the moon about, but ive been reading different things on here and have just read this particular thread and think that something maybe wrong with the visa in my passport. Basically under 'annotation' on the visa all i have is 'A#' and then some numbers...no name of petitioner or anything..is this correct? maybe ive just completely misunderstood the topic of this thread, i would appreciate it if someone could shed any light on this for me, thankyou

idk. On my fiancée's there were two lines under annotations. The first said "petitioner: *wrong name*" and i don't remember what the second said! Isn't an A# for a naturalized citizen or something like that???

A# is the "Alien Registration Number", an identification number assigned by USCIS for each immigrant and some non-immigrants like your fiancee who applied for a visa, etc. It should be on your NOA2 above her name and you will need it when filling out forms for AOS, etc. It is also referred to as a "File Number"

OK so i found the A# number on her NOA2 but it is above my name as the beneficiary (which i am) is this correct?? my main concern is that there is nothing else written on my visa under the annotation part (which other Vjers say they have...is this a major issue or is it just because London do things differently, sorry o sound like a completepratt, just want to get this right, thanks for your help

Apparently different people report completely different formats and information under the annotation field of the visa. I'm beginning to really question if it's worth fretting over ..

My fiancee experienced a delay of 8 days because the consulate mis-spelt my name(her fiancee) on the VISA.

They canceled the initial visa and marked it "Canceled without Prejudice" and spent an additional 8 days correcting this error.

However, they did not tells us of this mistake and caused unnecessary grief waiting and wondering as to why the delay!

Needless to say this VISA imprint on the passport is very important and only the issuing entity can correct it.

Sorry but you have to return to the issuing entity (make an appointment) and take it from there.

Or review the paperwork you received after the interview to determine what to do if the visa issued is incorrect.

Do not enter US with incorrect VISA info - this will cause more issues eventhough you or your fiancee is not at fault.

Please help. Does anyone know if the annotations on the visa are important? Would entering with this visa make things go haywire when we try to US?

I would go back to consulate and have it fixed before ever leaving Peru. It may give you problem when you do your AOS.
