6 months to 1 year.gather all the docs needed so that when they asked for it, you have them already.this will make everythings quicker

aos fee paid and emailed ds3032 7/8/2010

iv bill paid 7/12/10

case complete 8/18/10

Thanks for your reply .If I file for her Visitor visa 1st so she can come here before , then can I file for her AOS (Green Card) or will that make things complicated?

It may because you will be using her tourist visa with the whole purpose of filing AOS which is considered fraud. It's best to do things right from the beginning and file for her IR5 visa so she can enter the country with it and get her green card in the mail a few weeks later.

Thanks for your reply. I want to do things right that's why I am collecting the information so I can do it right. So you are suggesting not to do visitor visa, just file for IR5 (Category name for the Parent of US Citizen age 21 or older )to begin with? Is that right?

That's correct. You can start by using the I-130 Guide and also LingChe's NVC Shortcuts so you can be well prepared during the entire process. Reading the threads in the IR1/CR1 and the NVC forums will help you out as well.
