I assume now that our package is close to being down in El Salvador. I recieved a letter from NVC that they had the package and would forward it for processing in a week. Questions...

Packet 3 is mailed from the Embassy to my fiance but I believe that my portion (I-134) is mailed directly from the Embassy to me???????? and I mail it directly back to them??????

I am leaving for El Salvador tonight for a visit. Should I bring with me what I think they might require???? or wait.......and FEDEX what they want when they request????

In about 26 hours I am going to holding on to the woman that I love.....listening to her heart beat as it soothes my anguished soul at being 6 months apart from my last vist........

No, they don't mail you anything. You have to give the I-134 to your SO and they'll take it with them to their interview. You can definitely save yourself the hassle of international shipping by just taking everything you need with you. You need the I-134 notarized, letter from your employer, tax returns, and bank statement (if need be). Suerte! That's gonna be a great reunion!!

You should print the I-134 from the USCIS web site, complete it, and have it notarized before you go. It takes some time to compile what you need for that form. You only need tax returns if you are self-employed.

Also, write an updated letter of intent and have that notarized as well (not a requirement to notarize, but I did so... easy enough to have done when you take your I-134 in to have it notarized).

I also printed and sent to David all of the forms that he's going to be receiving in packet 3, and sent example forms for each from VJ... along with some additional evidence of relationship. Turnaround of that packet is going to be immediate for us...

Also make sure her immunizations are up to date...

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Jen, although in the instructions found on I-134 it says that tax returns are only needed if the petitioner is self-employed, some consulates/embassies ask for them all the same. It'd be a good idea for the OP to check with the consulate/embassy about what supporting documents they expect to see.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Good catch, thanks Mew!
