How long does it take the NVC to do a final review of your case?

What exactly are they reviewing? All documents were sent in and all fees are paid, so what would take so long to review?

Both the Petitioner and Beneficiary goes thru an FBI check. This is where it happens at the NVC level.

I find this hilarious because after they take your money, get all the information needed on you, then they decide to do an FBI check. I would think that that would have been done already. I have waited almost 7 years to get to this point and now is when they decide to do an FBI check.

Thanks guys for your responses.

Sorry you are feeling upset right now, but at each stage of your immigriation journey you are dealing with a diffferent part of the US government. When your case was at USCIS, they were only checking papaerwork, to make sure you have crossed the 'T' and dot the "i". At the NVC stage the US government is new checking and making sure that you and the beneficiary are in good standing to receive a Green Card. Don't know what the 7 years were all about but, if you waited 7 years to receive a visa then it seems as if those years were not the fault of the US govt.

Dealing with immigration requires patients, since the US govt considereds granting the right to migrate to the US a previlege not a right.

Things will move as they should and an end is near. Good luck.

Hey guys,

How long does it usually take the NVC to do a final review of your case?

It's less than 2 hours.

But - there's a queue, aye?

And then that level of namechecks must have been completed, prior.

Yer prolly asking about the amount of time between 'sign in fail' and 'final review completed', yes?

That's a moving target (because of the queue) and it's slowing down, much, these last 5 weeks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You picked up on my feeling of anger quite accurately. The 7 years of waiting was the time the petition was filed and the time my priority date became current. Thanks for your detailed explanation and kind words, it was really heart warming. To know that you read my mail, felt my pain and had the time to explain to me the procedure.

Thanks again.

Yes you are right. I am asking about the final review of my case. I just really need to hear the words "case completed". I know that I still have ways to go because when my file is shipped to Jamaica, the Embassy here will probably take forever to set an appointment date for me. Nothing comes fast or easy in my life and that causes frustration. It would be nice for a change if for once something would go right and fast for me.

Thanks for your reply.
