Why would they? There are lots of mosques in other parts of NYC and so far, not a single terrorist attack against them.

So there's no significant reason, beyond location, to argue that they'd go after this one. And security for one location doesn't need to cost NYC billions.

thank you. i think they will do a very large volume of business. the muslim community will be outraged & they will be nothing they can do about it. building the center there is absolutely the right of the developer. its also the street vendors right to sell their products infront of the center. both are legally ok to do so. both are insensitive towards others & in bad taste. many people have voiced their opposition to the center being built there. why not show respect towards others feelings & build it elsewhere?

I don't think most Muslims will really care about the vendors. Not in the least as far as making such a hateful diatribe against them.

If the vendor, otoh, notices that business is slow due to his location... he can always relocate to an area where more traffic = more business.

Why should they? Why should they do anything just to convenience you and others who think that islam is shite when what they want to do is not against any law, nor is it 'insensitive' unless you can't tell the difference between a muslim and a terrorist? I don't know, but I suspect the reason they want to build this mosque is because the old one no longer fits their requirements, for whatever reason, but quite frankly I don't care what their reason is, I don't care even if they don't have one at all. They have the right to do whatever they want to do as long as they do not break any laws because that's what it means to be an American in America and that should apply to everyone, not just christians.
