6 to 8 Weeks to process documentation now?

Hey everyone,

We received an RFE for not submitting a Police Certificate from London (I thought I was really thorough about the requirements but somehow missed the fact that one is required from every country one has lived in for more than 6 months).

The NVC received the Certificate on August 5th and we are now waiting for it to be processed - when I called in I was told that it is now taking 6-8 weeks instead of the normal 2-4 weeks. Does anyone have any experience that validates or refutes that timing estimate? Might it really be late September before they look at this one document and determine that it completes the file before sending it to the local Embassy?

Follow-up question: my brother's wedding is coming up in a few short months and she has a valid visitor's visa - how risky is it for her to come for the wedding and return to wait for an interview date? Does she run a real risk of being turned away despite having ties to her home country (job)?

Thanks!

Hi, What I heard from my sister whom lives in usa at the moment, The Immigrant have to stick with the people whom will go to usa plus with green card they will take longer time to reviews all the documents, as my case it would take for 2 month and half because the first time I sent DS 230 on 4 June and my data was not complete then the end of June NVC sent me mail and tell me what they needed, I sent DS 230 back again on early of July and my case complete on 13 of August and 15 I got interview date ( I asked for expedite visa also but they don't care all, even my mother in law is lung cancer, and husband was in the hospital ) they do not care and they can't help.

The lady on the phone said it normally takes 2-4 weeks, but due to heavy volume of mail the processing time increased. Without really saying it she seemed to indicate also that if the mail volume subsides the processing time will eventually return to normal.
