I have a question. My friend just married a USC at city hall to a USC while on a tourist visa. I don't totally agree with what they did but since they already did it I would like to support them. Please don't be judgemental.. I've known the USC for 3 years and they've both been dating for the last 2.5 years. I just wish they did things a bit more formally.

My question now is, what should they do for the non-USC to get a conditional Green Card? Where should they start?

Thanks in advance!!!

Start by having them read these guides, they will help detail the process for them. Once they have reviewed the guides and practiced filling out the forms, they should post any questions here and we will be happy to help them!

Filed: Citizen (pnd) Country: Uruguay
Timeline

The USC will need to prepare a I-130 (which will cost $355) and the Intending immigrant will need to prepare a I-485 (together with I-765 *working permit*, I-693 *medical form* and I-864 *affidavit of support*) (Which will cost $1010)

They will want to include with both of them G-1145 for e-mail and sms notification.

They need to make sure though they're separate packages that they are sent in one envelope to the corresponding P.O. Box in Chicago, IL.

Even though you may not agree with them I think it's very nice that you're trying to support them. And you shouldn't worry in this section we're all on the same boat so nobody's judgmental.

All the best!
