Change of Address prior to removing status

Hey Guys I am about to send in my ROC package but I'm a bit worried because I have moved twice since becoming a Conditional resident. The first time I moved I forgot to notify Uscis but I did notify them of my current address. On Form I-751, they are asking for a "list of all addresses and dates".

Could failing to report my old address affect my case? Has anyone else had this issue? Otherwise from this issue I have a ton of evidence to support my marraige. :help:

Many members shared their story of forgetting to change address. But eventually, they did, although they were late. Did you at any time change the address or not the first time you moved?

IMO, I think you should be OK since they do not update and maintain their system very well.

They will mail you all the letters to your current address, which is what appears on the I-751 form.

Other members may recommend something different though...

If you and your significant other have not been reporting your changes of address its required by law that a non citizen update their address with USCIS within 10 days of moving.. One fills out an online form the other a paper form and mail it in.

" the law requires that all non-U.S. citizens, except for holders of A or G visas, report a change of address within 10 days of moving by completing a USCIS Form AR-11, Change of Address. " Found on the USCIS change of address page.

I eventually change my address online since moving to my current address, but I did it late. Hopefully it won't matter.

If you did it as some point, then you should be OK. If you search VJ, you can find probably several threads about people who forgot to change the address and did it much later than 10 days, and they were fine.

We failed to change both our addresses as well.

We mailed the sponsor's change of address form express and filled out/submitted the AR-11??? online. We waited 2 weeks (just figured that the changes would probably be made within 2 weeks) to mail our petition. Everything worked out. I don't think it's too big of a deal.

Good Luck

Thanks for responding. I hope it won't be a big deal.

I would say definitely list your previous addresses on the form, though... I did the same thing. Forgot to inform them about two moves and informed them about the last move much too late. I actually called USCIS about it before I filed to ask whether I should list the previous addresses and she said: "Whatever mistakes you made before, fill the forms out honestly. You will be ok." So, that's what I did and I didn't have any problems.
