We crossed the border at the ambassador bridge this morning. It was quite busy. But everyone we had to talk with was very nice. That includes the guy in the booth before being sent into the building. They all were nice and laughing. Once inside a guy started taking care of us right away. It took about an hour and 15 minutes for them to finish processing the visa. When they inspected our car they barely moved anything. It looks like he just moved a few items. I have nothing bad to say about anyone or anything that happened there.

On a side note, they were definatly busy holding folks there and asking alot of questions of folks. Even separating the couples into rooms and asking them things. We even saw one girl get escorted to the back by people wearing rubber gloves. And when she came back out she was not wearing everything she went in with.

Iforgot to mention that they didn't even want to see a list of what we had. He just asked us if it was house hold stuff and said ok.

Did they give you your I94 or did you have to remind them? Did they charge you the $6 for it? And did they give you an EAD stamp?

I thought the I-94 was for the k visas no? We did CR-1. And we did get the stamp on the passport. They put the stamp over the seam of the two pages. And there was no fee.

I thought the I-94 was for the k visas no? We did CR-1. And we did get the stamp on the passport. They put the stamp over the seam of the two pages. And there was no fee.

You're right it is for K visas. I forgot to look what you had. Just got over excited about a recent Ambassador Bridge crossing. :)

Usually 1-94 costs $6 unless they forget to charge you. The only person I've heard of that didn't get an I-94 is Ashenflowers, and she POE'd at an airport. EAD stamp means nothing for K1s. Your social security card will still say you don't have work authorization.

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

Yes it was extremely smooth and easy, much more then I thought it was going to be.

They didn't even care much that I had my sedated cat with me.

They didn't look at his health record, just looked in the cage and said ok.

Did the ink on the index finger, sign some papers, then just sit there and people watch while we waited.

So overall we had more trouble with the construction on the roads then we did at POE =P

Congrats on your happy POE :D sounds like it was a interesting day for people watching lol. Its nice to see someone POE at the Ambassador bridge, I will be POEing there in Sept. It's nice to see they are actually nice to people sometimes lol

Not true. I POE'd at the Ambassador Bridge, then we drove across the country. The only reason I had to go into L.A. to get the I-94 issued properly was because it was the closest office to do so.

For those who don't know, I did NOT get an I-94 when I crossed at the bridge. PAIN IN THE !#$*&!$!... so make sure you ask them for it. They need to learn that K-1s MUST HAVE the I-94!

They didn't care about my cat or hamster either, and didn't move much in our vehicle (and we had it STUFFED... lol). Most people were nice, if a little clueless, except one idiot guy. I wrote a lengthy thread about it on here, but I don't think I transposed it to the review section. I should probably do that. lol
