:bonk:

Agradeciendo de antemano sus colaboraciones y aportes.

Su amigo,

Carlos. :innocent:

Not sure if you speak English too but I was wondering about something about marriage in Colombia between a Colombiana and an American.

It is not our intention to get married in Colombia but, if we have to do so, there is one thing that confuses me about the process:

What is the document from the US that a person uses to demonstrate being single that is acceptable in Colombia? While you need to demonstrate being single to get married in the US also, the best I can tell, the marriage license application (here in my county) only needs my signature stating as much. I know of no such official document that attests to one's "singleness" here in the US. Being married, of course (the marriage license) but not for being single (especially for those who have never been married.) The only thing I can even think of is showing tax returns of filing status "Single".. or maybe, affidavits from people who've known me since childhood...

Thanks for any insights because we may need this information in the future and I have no idea what I would need to show there.
