DS-156K fun

Hi guys,

I am currently filling out all the paperwork for my K1 fiance visa. The petition has been approved so I am now onto the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157 and DS-230 Part 1.

I only have one question which should (hopefully) be pretty simple to answer!

Form DS-156k states that my birth certificate, police certificates etc must be attached to file the form. Do these need to be posted off to the Immigrant Visa Unit in London or do I take them to my interview with me?

Thank you in advance for your much needed help!

Nick

Do not send the originals. If you want, you can send copies of all the documents along with the forms, but take the originals along with you to the interview. There seems to be a lot of confusion about this, everyone at the London embassy stage seems to have the same question. My fiance just sent copies because he felt he needed to send something along. But don't send the originals in case they get lost along the way.
