Hello everyone! I am *so* happy I found this site (and happy that it's really easy to use on the phone so I can read everything during the day!)

No need to bore y'all with the gory details. I'm here, guy is in England (made for a great World Cup this year) and we've been together for 4 years now. We're still trying to figure out why we've waited so long to get the visa - we were trying to finagle our way out of doing it for a while, then realized that this is the safest way to do it.

My fiancé (it's still so weird to call him that) are starting on the K-1 journey. This is quite possibly the most nerve-wracking thing I've ever had to do in my life, and we're just getting all of the paperwork in order.

Looking forward to conversing! You all seem like a lovely group of people. :)

Hey there. I would recommend to try out this 'do it yourself' kit. I paid $50 for it and it pretty much gives you fillable forms, instructions and sample forms already filled out so that you can refer to. This is the website http://www.usavisanow.com/ . They also provide legal services and is the cheapest out there. I did it all by myself and got approved for my greencard TODAY! I mailed out everything on May 28th and USCIS got everything in July 3rd. but my case was that we were already married and i am already in the US.

Anyway, I would say try to do it yourself first.

Welcome to VJ!

It's a great help here, get familiar with the site, read guides, faqs, timelines, posts, me and my fiancé read for months before filing for the K-1.

Do your homework! :) It's not very hard really, I was terrified like you at first, but 4 months later, I had my visa!

Good luck!
