I've been talking to my friend, she's been married to a USC for 5 years, her life keeps falling apart and she's saying she never thought that's how it'll turn out, I'm just interested in knowing what other married people thought. Feel free to elaborate.

I chose no, it's a bit disappointing but that's not entirely accurate. It's not really disappointing as much as it's more work than I thought it would be. Marriage is a LOT of work. It's not horrible just not 100% awesome all the time.

I didnt think it would be THIS hard to find a job. Its been almost a year since I moved and married and cannot find anything where we live.. even retail jobs I cant seem to get because im either over qualified for it or they just never return my calls. Its stupid but its putting a strain on everything and making things at home difficult.

I'm not sure how to answer that. I love her but I'm also convinced I will eventually get hypertension and die.

Same here, si man. To wit:

I said I'm not sure. I did have any grand ideas of what marriage was before entering into it. Things aren't always easy, but I didn't think they would be. All in all I'm happier married to him than I would be not, so I guess that's the measure of success?

Moving to the US after 5 yrs together made our marriage somewhat different and stressful, things definately didn't turn out as we had planned once we arrived...but after almost a 3 month separation I think we both want to get our marriage back to where it was 2 years ago.

Just like everything else in life, it has good days and not so good days. This happens when you have 2 people co-existing together.

As long at the end of the day you still feel love for each other, then it's worth it!

We're not where I thought we'd be but everything has it's own divine timing. The time we spent waiting for each other in this immigration process was hellishness and there were moments of awkward adjustment we went through when he first arrived here. Even though things aren't the way we thought they'd be I can tell that we have a better understanding of each other. We're really happy together and in love. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with love and happiness. I recognize that with him here I am more happy than I've ever been in my entire life. Marriage suits us well.

I said it was much better than my life before (and much much better than my previous married life).

Even though last night there was a lot of stress regarding the unknown of her upcoming

job interview, my current wife at her worst is 10 times better than my former wife at her best.

The difference is, when my current wife is frustrated or frazzled, she doesn't take it out on me.

It was funny, there was a fly in the room and she wanted to NUKE that sucker

(there goes the Buddhist thing about not harming critters, right out the window).

The bottom line is, at the end of the day, even if there was some jousting taking place,

you know that she is on MY side and is my best friend and lover, someone I can't live without.

I have the best most wonderful husband in the whole world :luv:

We've had hard times financially and handling 3 kids is hard regardless, but we don't fight or argue.

We have a rough new schedule now, I'm working days and he's working overnights and we see each other for like 20 min/day :( We're doing it for the kids though. I miss him a lot and look forward to the weekend when we really get to spend time together.
