Global as in its easy to manipulate people's notions of fear using less than veritable facts. Sadly, when scapegoats are easy to find, all sides take pride in ignoring how they manipulate those susceptible to their particular POV while denying they do so.

Instead of erroneously singling out one President, think of what the political landscape is doing to the resolution of issues in this country and whom are trying to benefit from such gridlock. Ironically the last Presidential campaign made a point of not using such silliness to score points and while Obama is not fully compliant with that pledge, he's far from different from the game Republicans are playing via their obstructionist posturing that have characterized them even before Obama took office.

Fear and paranoia are what the GOP is peddling, and many that would call themselves 'conservative' are as usually buying it hook, line, and sinker.

We only have one president at a time and the current one has been a disaster to the economy. Obama didn't rise to the top to his acumen in economics. He got there as the peace candidate on pulling out of Iraq War that was winding down (no thanks to his anti-surge vote) anyway.

The obstructist label doesn't stick as the Dems got everything they've wanted and now are running from their agenda ahead of the mob of voter discontent. At least the GOP didn't vote for Obama's agenda then claim they were deceived as the Dems did with Bush on Iraq.

No everything he has done has ticked the majority off or made them afraid there isn't much he has done to help which would influence his supporters.

Obama the Socialist has done exactly what he said he was going to do. The sheep bought it totally and are leaving him in droves when he has done what he campaigned on. Of course he did promise that the middle class would not see a tax increase and we haven't except in sin taxes but that is not the same. We all know that the middle class will be taking a bath next year so the messiah can't be blamed for it yet. So why the recriminations now? I see from the poll that the ones that think he is doing a good job is about what the amount of the hard core Socialist are so they are sticking by him.

On the flip side it was said back then that spending a huge amount of money was not good and having a record deficit was also not good for the economy but no one cared then so why care now. Of course, you can theorize all you like.

No president ever delivers on all his campaign promises so that's not realistic compared to my simple but measurable standard of asking what legislation was successfully blocked by the GOP.

Obama could have built up his political power by demonstrating his leadership in the economy or foreign policy but chose to back healthcare reforms that had nothing to do with our economic problems. He's so easy to oppose and hard to support because he's done little that is demonstratively positive to most people. If he made progress somewhere, people would be more willing give him more of their trust and build up his political capital.

Simply put you don't give more power, more money and more support to anyone in charge who hasn't made things better. With your rationale I could easily be your supervisor and claim any failures are your fault because you didn't give me everything I wanted.
