Yes, I am aware. I was also posting this thread to let other people who are waiting know that they're scheduling for the last half of September now, so that they might have a little hope.

The whole point of the interview thread is to have "one-stop shopping" - all information relative to interviews is in one place, rather than cluttering up the forum with superfluous threads. People have hope that interviews will be scheduled regardless, since London has always scheduled interviews. I've never known them to not schedule interviews. Eventually every approved petition gets an interview, so there is always hope.

Juelz, I get that you don't care about the rest of us who are waiting for the end of our journey. You see it from the other side. You've been through it and you're done. Ok... fine.

The rest of us want more that just hope that it WILL come... eventually.... someday. Some of us want to know that things are happening, and things are moving forward. There are several people who were in the same spot as Peter and I, waiting for a date to open up. I wanted to give them hope that they're scheduling again, so they can keep an eye out for their letter or make their calls if they were going to. End of story. Sheesh.

You missed my point, entirely. My point was that there is a place already for what you are trying to accomplish. Its called the 2010 UK Interview Thread, or something to that effect. There is all kinds of info in that thread and people sharing their stories, giving members a glimpse as to all the variations in getting through the interview process. I'm sorry that you are willing to accept that there is another way of looking at things.

I do actually care about the process and I'm still actually going through the next steps with my husband as I type. In fact, with respect to my husband's RoC, we have run into a major snafu. And yet, you haven't seen me starting all sorts of new threads trying to garner attention to the situation. I merely commented about it a few times in the May 2010 I-751 filers thread, since that is the appropriate place for me to discuss issues relative to the petition.

So, bear in mind that once you get through the K1, your journey is far from over. Your fiance will need to go through some major adjustments to life in the US, and you'll have your next steps in the immigration process, which may or may not be as easy as the K1 has been for you. There will be some major challenges along the way, I assure you. You may think I'm unfeeling or unkind, but nothing could be further from the truth. I am merely trying to offer some perspective on the situation, things that you may not have considered since you haven't been on VJ long enough to read some of the truly awful stuff that members have gone through.

Though I will say I agree with you both. Dodi, it's great that you've gotten your interview, and that does make me hopeful that we will hear something soon. Did this need to be posted in its own thread? Not necessarily, but it's not hurting anyone either, nor is it cluttering the board, so I don't see why it makes a difference.

Julez, yes, there is an interview thread, and I'm sure that Dodi will post her interview date there as well. Again, it wasn't technically necessary for her to start a new thread, but as a relative newbie, it's nice that we have a thread JUST FOR US on the UK board. Recently, there have been so many "exclusive" threads on this board that go on for so long, it's easy to feel like an unwelcome outsider. In the long run, we will all get our interview dates, we will post them in the interview thread, and this won't matter. But for right now, this month, this week, when I'm having a very bad week and am heartbroken over the fact that I haven't seen my fiance for almost 4 months and it will be another 4 months until he actually flies over, yes, it's nice to hear that things are moving along for us Summer 2010 London filers.

2 1/2 months from filing the I-129f to receiving an interview date (3 1/2 months from filing) is one of the shortest timelines I have seen in my 5 years on this website. Not really sure why "hope" is necessary Most people "on the side" waited longer to get the I129f approved at their service center.

And Julez is right, more people will see it in the interview thread, where this information is carefully managed to give the most people the widest perspective on when interview dates are scheduled. No one is trying to be "mean."

Incidentally, one poster who had a shorter timeline than you for the K-1, had a horrible AOS ordeal which I believe she found far more difficult to cope with than being apart during K-1. The journey is far from over.

What is the deal with making new threads? It's not like the UK forum is super busy anyway. The last thread on the first page wasn't touched since August 16th. Making a new thread here isn't hiding "more relevant" ones. You're getting upset over an internet forum. Chill out. Dodi gets your point - she just doesn't care. A lot of the other threads are only being bumped with "Congrats!" and other 1-3 word posts that add nothing relevant for most. That's fine for them. I, for one, like seeing new threads and new developments, even if it's a little reiterated, with comments other than simple gestures of goodwill.

In defense of Dodi, and myself, why is this necessary? Yes, other people have it much harder. No where was she trying to say that this has been a "harrowing road of trials and tribulations", but just because the filing itself has gone quickly doesn't mean that we shouldn't want to follow our cases and be happy when they progress. And why would you say that someone who had an easy K1 had a hard AOS? That means nothing, as every case is different, and is nothing but a scare tactic. We all know the journey is far from over, but right now all I want is the visa so our separation can be over. I think you are being a bit harsh here just to bring her, and others, down, which really isn't fair.

I know the ordeal is far from over. This is just the first step in the long process. And yes, I'm also well aware of how lucky we've been, I've never denied that. We've had so much bad luck in other things (2 lay offs, car problems, in-laws with a trip, bad attorney, children's school issues) that for us to finally catch a break with the K1 process is amazing.I am also well aware that the AOS could be a whole different ballgame. I'll cross that bridge when we get to it. No point borrowing trouble now.

However, there are other people in the same stage of the K1 process as I am, waiting for a spot to open up, who have been waiting much longer, and have felt recently like there's nothing going on. Giving them a little hope doesn't hurt. Does it mean they'll have their date as quickly? Maybe, maybe not. For all I know, Marlea's letter could be on its way out to say they got scheduled for two days before us. All I was trying to do was give someone a chance to say, "YAY!!! Maybe us too!!" It never hurts.

I will add my info to the interview thread, so others can see it if they want. But the purpose of THIS particular thread was to let people know London is scheduling the next block. Why does this have to be such a big deal?

You could have accomplished the same goal using the interview thread. As someone else pointed out, threads like this drop off the map pretty quickly, whereas the interview thread is pretty much always near the top where people, for whom the interview phase is currently germain, can find it.

I haven't been nasty once in this thread. You're the one who flies off the handle any time someone dares to post something that doesn't go along with you agenda. Just once I'd love you to really try to understand what some of us are saying, rather than jump down our collective throats.
