So it speaks for itself, eh? That because a post quoting a FB message of mine mentioned me giving a hand job, I am somehow not worthy of respect? That I called myself a #######? I'm single. I don't need to make apologies for my sexual behaviour.

I know enough about you offline, Julian, to know EXACTLY what I'm dealing with. You brickbats make no impression on me.

Now look here, why are you putting words in my mouth? Neither Charles nor I said anything of the sort, and neither of us asked you to apologise. I, like Charles, simply indicated that you project a certain character in your post. I never said what the character was, I leave that for others to deduce.

I don't want this thread to be shut down, so I won't say what I really want to say to you, Julian. But mark this: you project a certain character in YOUR posts. Bear that in mind.

My interpretation of Charles's comment/link was that he was basically saying to Maven, "You write stuff like this, what do you expect?" It was mean spirited and disrespectful. That it came from a mod was the worst thing about it. I think it was deleted not because it was so egregious, but because it was from a mod who showed poor judgment.

The character I project is a simple and humble truth. If believe you have been offended, then I apologise. I only ever wanted to note that the criticisms against this Charles fellow were completely unwarranted. Like me, he simply wanted to provide additional context. Let it be a word to the wise for you: what is said cannot be unsaid.

Actually, that's exactly how I read it. And it had a distinct whiff of the "#######-shaming" Doris_G mentioned somewhere else in Site Related yesterday, like "you wore a short skirt, what did you expect?"

Honestly, I don't really care too much what you think of me or my sex life. I put it out there as a source of amusement and titillation, not for approval. Because honestly, that story (and that was a seriously expurgated version that Joyce posted) was effing FUNNY.laughing.gif But being accused of doling out BJs when there is no proof is another matter all together. I am so tired of this talk of sluttishness. Let's move along.

Humble, you?laughing.gif Wow. You weren't providing additional context, you were throwing a jab at me.

Thanks for the apology. And I do not regret a single word I said -- I only wish it could have stood longer.

I remember thinking Mags was always being snarky with me when communicating as a moderator via PM

It's my way. It's a sign of affection! :D

She probably was. She's English and we snark with love. It's context :)

Absolutely. I'm good with context!

I think I had one major disagreement with LaL (or maybe it was Mags, I can't keep them straight because I *still* have internet crushes on both), but I was always impressed that through our back-and-forth, never once did the phrase "if you don't like my decision, contact Ewok" ever come up. (The phrase "stfu mox, I googled you and I know where you live" did come up though, which I thought was somewhat heavy-handed but effective...)

D'ya know, I think it was me. However, I think we worked through it and both of us came out smiling at the other end. You said nice things, I said nice things and I think I even saw some ponies frolicking with happiness in a nearby field afterwards.

Mostly I remember the ponies. And how everything was sparkly and your hair was bouncy in slow motion, and I think Bryan Adams' "Everything I do" was playing in the background.

Ah, good times.

Hmm. What kind of "character" would it "project" if I were to share my dating story involving a poodle, a dead car battery, a preacher's son half my age, and a beej?

:goofy:

(Nae worries, mods. 'Tis an idle threat.)

You'd better be prepared for a spike in bizness, little lady!

I'd add you to my list of secret internet twins if you did, Ms Doris.star_smile.gif
