I called NVC this morning and the automated system says that after review of my husband's parents file, there is information missing and that they have sent a letter on 8/16 stating what information is missing and to forward. I have no idea what can it be, we were extra careful on making sure we had everything... Is there any way of finding out from the operators what information is missing, so that we don't have to wait for the letter? Do they no longer send this info via email? Any help, would be greatly appreciated.

you can find it out from the operator. And yes they send it by email so you can tell the operator to resend it to you since you haven't gotten it yet. Or look at you spam folder too.sometimes it goes there. Keep us updated !

So, spoke to the operator yesterday and the woman stated that the Petitioner's Birth Certificate was missing. This is not true... Not only did we send the original BC, but had the translation attached. I told the operator that the BC was both there and a copy was in the other case (mother in-laws). She then said she would have a supervisor look into it and for us to call back in 10-15 days. I can't believe we need to wait another 10-15 days, so that a Supervisor can look over the case to find the BC that we included....

Negrecita,

The same happened to me! I even sent a checklist listing all the documents I was sending. I know I sent my birth certificate and it was a certified copy of the original signed by the head of the civil registry (where birth certificates are issued in my country).

Anyway, don't waste anytime waiting for a supervisor to review because when you call back in 2 weeks they will tell you that your documents were reviewed and they were not found or either that your birth certificate was not the original or a certified copy and you will have to send it anyway. If you have an extra original copy, mail it right away with the checklist response letter that you will get by email or mail.

Waiting for a supervisor's review made me waste approximate 1 month.

I know it is a pain, specially when you know you sent everything, but there is no way around it.

I hope this helps!
