Removing condition on Social Security Card

Hi,

I have my GC now and have a SSN card that states:

VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.

About 5 weeks ago we went to Social Security office to remove condition on Social Security Card ("VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION"). The person at the Social security office took away old card & said that I should receive new card in 4 weeks. It has been more than 4 weeks & I still haven't received my new card. I am now getting worried. Can some one please tell me how much time it takes to get new card.

This why I have posted on here probably 100 times to not give up your card until you get the new one. If they ask it say the dog ate it or you left it home. They can't make you give it up.

Now how much longer it is going to take is hard to tell without know at which step of the verification process you are at or why it's not verifying.

I would try to find out why they can't verify your immigrations and are they at the secondary electronic verification step or has a Form G-845 been sent for manual verification. Plus find out of either if these need to be done, have they been done. The secondary electronic verification normally takes a few days to a week for the SSA office to receive a response. If the G-845 gets sent figure a month for that to come back to the SSA office, since it gets mailed to and from immigration.
