hi ya paul

i did a search on vj for you..i entered DHL tracking...and i think i found your package for you...

go to the link below.

DHL tracking

from looks of it ...its the date you said it was sent from NVC....

here is how i did it mate

Go to DHL.com

It will ask for your location... put USA, even though your not there. At the top there are some drop-down menus... click on 'Track' menu, then select 'track by reference'... click on it.

In the 'reference' field, type: correspondence

Use the date drop-down menus to select dates a day or so either side of when the NVC claimed to have forwarded your petition to the consulate.

In the 'origin postal code' field, type: 03801

Then click 'track'....Click on the red tracking number for a package, and you will be able to track its progress and see when it's been signed for at the consulate.

there ya go

good luck

kath

your packet 3 and 4 should get delivered to your address..and good on you for covering all bases..

maybe you should also email the consulate in Syd of your change of address too...

Hey ya Kath thanks a bunch Mate

Hey Kath... yes, we thought this was going to take months... we didn't believe it would be that quick. They gave us the impression that it was going to take months. My wife made a call to Rose at the Consulate, we have a direct line to her :D and my wife spoke with her today. Rose said that my wife does have to return and post her passport as soon as she returns to Australia. My wife did leave an express envelope with them.

So what's this thing about a brown envelope? What does it contain?

Anyway, thanks again for everyone's support. And I do apologize to those who were hoping DCF would continue in some new way... The best thing now is to get into gear and get your things sent off right away.

So what's this thing about a brown envelope? What does it contain?

From Google Search...

An immigrant visa is sometimes also called a "mysterious brown envelope", for that is exactly what it is. The consulate will take all documents that you sent in, the visa application form, medical examination, etc. and put it all into a brown envelope. This envelope is the visa. Remember to keep it sealed; once the seal is broken, the visa would become worthless.

There's even a nice picture of one right here.

Thanks to everyone who posted a welcome! RINGS, to answer your question, yes, I met Anna because I was dialing an office number in Australia, called the wrong one, and when she answered I was so captivated by her voice that I began flirting with her immediately, sight unseen, from the other side of the world. Lucky for me she turned out to look as good as she sounded.

And POI N J, I don't know if a 2.5 year courtship is a record on here (actually it was 2.5 years from the time we met until I proposed, but from the time we first spoke on the phone until the wedding it was 4.25 years!), but it involved at least 10 trips to Sydney on my part, and 3 trips for her to L.A. in that time.

Sorry - people are on here looking for immigration info and assistance, and here I am rambling about my relationship. Well, we've been holding out for news about the DCF, but what do you think - should I go ahead and file here Stateside before I go back to Sydney just in case, and then switch to DCF if it resumes? Thanks and cheers everyone - Mark

whoo hoo moonie

thats great news for ya ..aint it a fantastic feeling...

now they send your application to NVC for final background checks before getting sent over to the consulate in sydney..

yes the medical and the police check has to be organised...

if you go to the top of this page you will find embassey info..take a look there for which doctors he has to go to and also which state is he in again...different states have different procedures...only reminder i would give you is that the medical and the police check is valid for 12 months so his best bet would be to wait for a bit before doing it all...

hampster no worries to that mate...you should see me in the chatroom i met robbie in ..i am a nutter...

you could go into your control panel and delete some of your uploads... i did that the other day to make room..

vtputson...dont worry on that mate ...im sure no one else in here doesnt either...i met my hubby in 2002 and got to be here in the states in june 2006...so know what ya on about..at least you have the good fortune for your work to take you to visit so often..must be great to do that

ok ya have had enough of me posting today im outta here lol...

see ya tomorrow

Jeeze, turn my back for 5 seconds and you lot go nuts with the postings! :P 3 pages of it!!!!!

Hey Vutapson, welcome to the Aussie Forum, it's a really nice bunch of folks in here...Yay more aussies and ameristralians to chat to! :D Btw, the story of how you met was really amazing!

YAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS DAVID AND STEPH!!! BOUT TIME!:dance: That is wonderful news and I am so happy for you! You must be so relieved that the waiting is over and CONGRATULATIONS ALSO TO MOONIE ON THE NOA2..you are on the way! :D

Hi Elle, when you are photocopying your stuff for the interview photocopy a few extras of your police certificate apparently from what others are saying on VJ that it can be really handy to give to the employer when getting a job that requires a background check because that can be a slow process and they will just accept a police cert if you have it. Wishing you heaps of luck for your interview! :D

Awesome video clip Vylex, belly laugh! Needed that!

Hampster, packet 3 and 4 were sent to me from the consulate, regular mail. Pkt 3 had Visa app forms, I-134 affidavit of support, medical instructions and the checklist that you fill out and send back to them with the stuff they request. Pkt 4 was just a small envelope with the visa appointment letter. PS, don't think i didn't notice your little comment about my chocolate habit! It's been noted!:lol:

Vik, yeah I am headed to Colorado Springs about an 1.5hrs from Denver. Rings and Loke will also be in Colorado. Hey if you are planning to fly out around Easter, better think about getting seats held on flights as soon as you can cause I tried today and the cheapest flights were sold out..mind you I am trying to fly so that JFK is my POE to get the temp EAD stamp. Food for thought anyway. :)

NYCangel, I visited Jake twice on VWP with no hassles. Just make sure yr aussie has a letter from his employer stating that he has a job here in Oz and a copy of a bank statement or bill with his home address on it. I never got asked for it but if they won't let him in at the POE, he can use those documents to establish strong ties with Australia so they know he is not wanting to stay.

Hey Kath, when i explained the term 'DAG' to Jake he was stunned! Now he calls me a dag or a yobbo! I just wish he would quit trying to say "G'day" it sounds so bad with an american accent trying to do australian.

Well, I am over my hissy fit, finally. Jake applied for an apartment today, which I'm sure we will get. I am looking at arriving in the states around April 6 of course pending selling my car.

Thank you so much Kath and Hampster for getting that Land from Down Under song stuck in my head for the entire day!!!!

Anyway, enough dribble out of me...toodle oo! (trying to think of aussie ways to sign off is that english??)
