Ohh... and welcome Rings and Loke! You've come to the best place around here! Trust me!

Priscilla, lovely wedding pics. I checked your album too :)

Kath was telling you abt blood test for immunization check. I went to my GP back in November (!), she ordered blood test for everything that can be checked and gave me copy of lab results. The only thing I needed was the ADT shot, cos I had it more than 10 years ago! And they gave me that at the surgery. All on Medicare. It was easy! I didn't need any extra forms done or signed. I took lab results with me to Dr Millar, he just ticked all on my vaccine form from the consulate.

David and Stephanie, great to hear you are spending time together while things are cleared and over with your approval. Happy for you that you could make it happen! And I'm sure that happines of being together will be stronger than the disappointment of the DCF bungle!

Girlfrmoz... what do you mean you don't know when you will be leaving?! I thought you set the date already - I have to sell my car as well. I started talking to some people but if it doesn't work, I'll just sell it back to the garage I bought it from 3 years ago :) Thanks for offering help. I guess I'll have questions once Aaron sends me packet4 and I start putting things in order.

xoxo to all

I'm for happy for David and Stephanie as well! I know how close they were to getting the Visa before the rug was pulled from under them. I'm so happy she was able to get through! I have positive feelings that the people caught in the net will be freed soon enough.

I still have high hopes for the DCF's return. The only good thing is that my wife was not planning on coming until September anyway. The problem is that I am on the verge of filing the I-130/K-3. I just hope this mess gets straightened out in the next few weeks. I want to know if I should get the ball rolling now because I am already expecting a 6-12 month waiting period after filing. :(

Really? Hmmmm...what to do what do. I am not sure what timelines to believe when filing for IR-1/K-3s. I keep having fears of it taking 12 months or more. I have practically everything ready to go. The only difference is that with the DCF I have more confirmation of the time frame and it is a definite Visa (no K-3 / AOS / EAD overhead). I'll give it 1 more week and then if no news, I'll go ahead and get the ball rolling.

Thanks...and congrats on being re-united safely! I'm wishing you the best on the rest of the process!

Some timelines I've seen have taken 6-10 months, but for Australia, it wouldn't take more than 12 months.. If you started in February, you probably would have been done by the end of the year.

And of course you can wait until this whole DCF thing is sorted out... who knows when that will be

Hi All,

Its great to see that Steph can wait with you while this whole mess is sorted!

Vylex - why dont you see if you can file the I-130 in the States now and then when the DCF thing is sorted, see where you are in the process and re-file?

We filed in Septemeber 06 -- and I may be an exception to the rule but -- over FIVE months later, NO NOA2!

This is why, when Eric was here in Jan -- we filed DCF. BUT now that is ALSO pending.

So we have two I-130s pending (and a K3 visa)...its like some cruel joke lol.

Feeling like a never ending battle :(

Anyways, yeah if you dont mind paying $190 again, that can be another option.

We tried to get the Vermont petition sent to the Sydney Consulate but they said we had to repay -- and we thought no worries considering how much quicker it would be...but now who knows. I hope they let us know what's going on by the week they re-open.

We filed in Sept, expecting to be done by March, in fact I already have my ticket but that will have to be changed -- and I probably wont be with Eric in the States until late June :(

Which service center will you be under? Vermont is still processing cases back in March while the others are in July. They haven't updated this month tho.

A scenario can be 3 months for NOA2, add 2 for NVC, add maybe 1-2 for it to be sent to the Consulate and for the interview date to be given.

Goodluck!

Thanks for that Kath, it's slowly all sinking in and coming together. One thing tho; I've looked right through the Consulate-embassy website and the USCIS and the US State website but still can't find the Melbourne doctors list :( ....Your question reminds me of a conversation J and I were having last night where he says to me (smugly) "you just want to become an american" and I returned "No, I just want to love & live with one" lol.. we are both such nationalists....lol..

I also have what could be a silly question: we can't work out who to make the cheque for the I-130 out to? Since we will probably go ahead and send it to the USCIS in the States do we just make it out to the office we'er sending it to???

Either way Vylex, I believe that DCF will be quicker/easier even with the new structure in place as they take preference for immediate family over fiances always (according to what I've read on the websites).

Lol @ Girlfrmoz; don't think we'll hear from him in a good while...

Thanks Ausqueen, is good to know I can get that check done locally first and all on Medicare.

Oh Caroline you duffa, you sound like me the other week I went ####### over ####### on my way to work in front of groups of tram passengers who were all walking cos the trams were not funtioning. About three rushed to my aid including one girl who pick up my bruised fruit that had rolled out of my bag and my dented phone lol..

Thanks for the feedback everyone. :)

Elle, I was wondering about that. I was afraid to send in the I-130 (to the VSC) and then find out the DCF was reinstated. However, if they don't care about me filing it twice (more money to them) then I will gladly do it. Did you have any issues or letters from the USCIS regarding the multiple I-130s?

I hope we hear some news within the next week or so on the DCF front.
