Thanks Caroline...

The best birthday gift would be knowing when my wifes final visa interview will be. The consulate should have recieved her DS2001 last week on Tuesday, it has been 7 days... so we're hoping to hear from them soon.

04 January 2004 : Met Stephanie in Las Vegas.

15 May 2006 : Joined visajourney

16 September 2006: Got married in Las Vegas.

03 October 2006 : Stephanie applies for certificate of name change.

12 October 2006 : Stephanie recieved certificate of name change.

16 October 2006 : Stephanie applies for NPC, recieves a couple weeks later.

29 November 2006 : Arrived in Sydney, stayed in 4Points Sheraton Darling Harbor.

30 November 2006 : DCF. Submitted I-130 Sydney US Consulate "walk-in Thursday". Packet 3 in hand.

11 December 2006 : Final Medical Appointment with Dr Miller and immunizations. Approved.

11 December 2006 : Sent off DS-230 Parts I and II, and DS-2001 overnight priority.

27 December 2006 : Received RFE in the mail, returned RFE same day.

24 January 2007 : New Legislation preventing approvals of I-130s at Consulate.

30 January 2007 : Final Visa Interview in Sydney.

22 February 2007: Sydney called for my wife to send her passport to issue the visa.

04 March 2007: Stephanie flies back to Australia to post her passport.

14 March 2007: Stephanie Recieves passport and visa.

18 March 2007: Stephanie is in Florida. Journey is over.

30 March 2007: Stephanie gets Social Security Card.

02 April 2007: Stephanie gets Green Card.

We got packet 3 today...talk about lift my spirits!! Except my man has gone home for Christmas and is partying and I can't contact him grrrr. Oh well at least we got it!

11th Aug 2008 - Mailed I-751 to CSC.

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

Ugh. i'm sick sick sick. Great way to start a holiday, eh? I got some super strong anti biotic that SHOULD knock it all out, but right now I feel like #######.

Congrats on getting packet 3 Lyndel -- it shouldn't be too long now!

Caroline, sorry to hear you're sick, what a bummer! If you're stuffed up when you fly to Australia, I really recommend getting some "Ear Planes" (I think that's the right name?) for the flight. I had the flu over thanksgiving when we flew up to Boston, and I was really worried about my ears, but these ear plugs really did the trick!

30 June 2006 - received packet 3 from Sydney Consulate to do DCF

July 2006 - discover Sydney are changing their DCF process

8 September 2006 - have fingerprints taken, post police check form to AFP

12 September 2006 - medical

21 September 2006 - receive police check from AFP

23 September 2006 - wedding day!

12 October 2006 - hubby files I-130 in Sydney during Thursday walk-in (and I-864). I file DS-230 parts 1 and 2, and DS-2001.

31 October 2006 - interview date... and I'm approved!

1 November 2006 - pick-up visa from Sydney Consulate

14 November 2006 - arrive in the US!

22 November 2006 - greencard arrives in mail

24 November 2006 - social security card and welcome letter arrive

i was reading this today thought it might be interesting for you read...i know one of you wants to work when you arrive in the states...this is about amendments that the odbudsmen has recommended..its not concrete as yet i dont think...

We're still waiting to hear from the Consulate. We sent out packet 3 on 11 December, and we haven't heard from them yet. Let me know if you hear from them and I'll be sure to post any news I get on here too!

I looked on the Consulate website and the only dates that they are closed for the Holidays in December is the 25th and 30th. So they are there, but yes, if they are short staffed, then maybe that's why it's taking a bit longer.

Hi everyone

I havent been around much but have been keeping up on every ones news. keep hanging in there it is all worth it in the end.

Kath hey mate how have you been doing.

Well i went for my California drivers license yesterday and passed with flying colours. I got 100% and the drive only took about 10 mins. So now after the new year i will start job hunting. The cold here in the desert is unreall. It has been down to -10 and -11 ( aust temp ) most mornings but the worst part unlike in aust there is no frost But dam it has been cold. How is everyone else coping with the weather?

It's been in the high 30'sC here last couple of days....phuuueeeeee.....! But typical to Melbourne it's already looking like a cool Christmas....let's hope hot roast turkey's on the menu...
