I got a response from the consulate this morning regarding my medical results:

"Thank you for your inquiry.

Please leave the medical documents sealed in the envelope they came in.

You can bring this envelope with you on the day of interview."

So I guess I have to wait until my interview to find out if I passed.

I find it SO bizzare that neither the doctor nor clinic indicated to me in any way if I passed or not. Especially since

a lot of you who had your exams done (albeit in different states) were told your results. This is just making me more panicky and thinking perhaps I didn't pass it after all.

Not happy, Jan.

Are you able to call the doctor and have them confirm if you've passed or not?

That's a smart decision :star: And baby bonus too!:lol:

Kat- I'm sure you passed. If there was anything wrong with the results they would probably want to test further, etc

Yes, the baby bonus!! Although, they dont give it out by lump sum anymore. It's $5000 this year divided into 13 payments - still helps alot!! :D

If you call them, maybe you can get them to send you a copy as I am sure I needed one for Adjustment of Status (AOS) and I had taken photo copies so I didnt have to have another medical.

Good Luck

Arrrgh ... that is soo frustrating, they tell you to bring them to the interview yet the directions say to mail them in with Pack 3!

I will be mailing my medical results in with all the other forms required for Packet 3. That's what the instructions in packet 3 tell you to do, so that's what I'll be doing! ;)

I don't want to get an email from them a few days later after posting all the documents except the medical results saying they need the medical results (despite that email saying bring them with me on the day!).

Our Timeline

December 31st, 2007: Engaged!

November 4th, 2008: Received official confirmation that first K1 packet has been received by USCIS.

April 7th, 2009: Received Packet 4. Interview scheduled for April 21st at 9am.

April 21st, 2009: Visa Interview @ Sydney Consulate. PASSED!!! :)

May 21st, 2009: POE @ SFO.

You could always pretend you don't know that it's been signed for and send the Consulate a polite email saying that you mailed it on a certain day and was wanting to make sure it got there safely.

That's what I did and they were very kind in & responded quickly to say they had received it and that it was currently taking them x number of days to process & review them

Sneaky but it works.. and it kept me from going crazy wondering when my interview notice would come :lol:

You can be even sneakier and have the US citizen call The department of state number. They will be able to tell you when an interview has been scheduled so you can circumvent the mail that way. However you may get your appointment (p4) via email. That is how my husband received his.

They gave us extra copies of the medical at the interview. (They give you a bunch of stuff back) I wouldnt worry too much about passing or not (unless you know you have one of the diseases they list on the chart). I'm pretty sure if you did, they would tell you at the medical and recommend a doctor or schedule an appointment to have it be treated. I'd assume no news = good news. They didnt tell my husband whether he passed or not, but they did point out certain ailments he may want to have treated.

Good Idea's .... I'll wait till Thursday, that will make it 2 weeks so its not unreasonable to expect something in the mail within 2 weeks ....

Nothing really new to report on this end ... Shays booked the preacher for the 2nd May at 11am ... Our rings arrived but they are one size to small (both!) so they've been returned and reordered in the correct sizes ... I still havent found what Id like to wear for the wedding, I have a couple options that will work fine but honestly Ive given up looking because Im sick of looking soo I think Ill wait till I get there and look again in Boise .... What I have is fine really, as usual Im over thinking things and working myself up ... Ive spent this weekend sorting my unit and have started packing things I dont use on a daily basis ... yesterday I ran down to kmart and picked up a couple suitecases that were on a good special from $69 down to $45 and I pretty much decided to use an Excess Baggage company to ship over a couple suitcases.. its going to cost about $370 for about 35kg but it will cost a lot more to actually replace items and some stuff like photos etc are irreplacable ...

Shays gone into nesting mode and is fretting about cleaning walls and carpets and started listing his crappy furniture vs the good furniture and Im like babe I love you for you not your furniture! ... but I do understand because I went thru the same when he was coming down to visit me... I wanted him to be happy and felt my place just wasnt good enough but it all turned out fine and we had a blast spending time together and visiting different places etc ... but then again I worried myself sick over what he would think of me and it was all for nothing! Ironically he was worried about the same thing so there you go
