bet your getting excited now knowing its either in syd or on its way

i would get a bank statement ask them to date when the account was opened and state you have deposits from ssi and how much a week or whatever it is ..make sure it clearly states your name correct address and its on bank letterhead..can you get your hand on anything from ssi...or anything pertaining to your accident about compensation that would help too..especially if it state how much the payments will be and how long...

anything you can think of to boost your approval at the interview i reckon...also make sure you send the original of the NOA2 to kia for him to take to the interview ..i cant remember if ours was looked at but we had it with us just in case ...

love the photo's.. we are at the moment 6.53am having freezing rain storm..we have about an inch at the moment..will see if i can post some pics too..

take care

I have my award letter that states my new amount monthly and the withholding for slight overpayment. Letter from boss stating she is giving me overtime to met the required 125% to get him home with how much I make with overtime a year. I also made a copy of the email from Sydney embassy stating with my ssi AND my job that I meet the 125% and do not require a cosponsor

From: Sydney, IV (SydneyIV@state.gov)

Sent: Sun 12/07/08 5:32 PM

Thank you for your inquiry.

If there are only 2 members for your household size and if you are not residing in Hawaii or Alaska, the poverty guidelines for 2 persons is US$17,500 in annual salary.

Your income is US$16,292 plus SSI is US$6,912. Therefore, your total income per year is US$23,204. This meets the 125% poverty guidelines which means you don’t need a second job or a joint sponsor to meet the poverty guidelines.

If my calculations are incorrect, please advise, however, you may include your SSI income to your annual salary of US$16,2 92.

Thank you.

THATS the email I received. So I am making a copy AND attaching this to the I-134 along with my statement on ssi and the award letter. I also stated I am taking secretarial classes and that I sell items on ebay that I make for extra cash (WHICH shows up on the bank statement) I also have a lil over 1k in the bank and explained how I am taking the classes so that we can live comfortably and be able to adopt.

I also have letters from my children there spouses and my sister in support of him moving here with me and why.

I also am having the bank write out a statement that he is the beneficiary in case I die or injured.

We also have our phone calls on skype and yahoo..emails..letters from post (which he is getting soon for Chrissy!!)

I just want him HOME!!!!!! I been so overwhelmed and felt so small because I do not want to fail him.

I also am writing a statement on why my last years tax return was very small as I just started work again after 6 years (ex would not let me work at all..jerk AND doctor said no because I was severely overweight (almost 390 lbs) and this put heaps of pressure on my sciatic nerve and bulging disk (have 4) now I'm 195 and feeling so healthy!

So not sure how to word that..I will do anything for Kai...I think you all know that..I just miss him and I want him to say BABY I GOT THE VISA!!! I do not want to hear DENIED. I am not sure how often folks are denied

PS the lady at NVC stated I was the 12th person that week for Australia who was in a large age gap relationship..she was sooooo sweet!!

anyway...I hope and pray that is enough..I really miss him and I do not work without him..this family does not work without him. We all miss him and can feel his presence in everything we do

How was everyones Chrissy???

Well we received an email from the embassy with all the paperwork and what we need to do..he is heading down to the post to see if it came yet (hopefully they used his mailing addy and not his parents home addy)

his parents know he is coming here and his father is doing okay with it but mum still thinks I am a phase and he is not moving here. She did however make a comment today that suggest she is coming around to the idea..she does not like it BUT is learning to be okay with it...WHEW...been together over 2 years..I am no phase lol...

HOPEFULLY one day she will come around and realize I love her son and that I just want to take care of him and be a good wife to him...She does not want to let go yet..I do not expect her to..I have a son as well..BUT i know my son is an adult and has to make his own choices...Kais mom is one of those moms who wants to be number one :(

She will always be his number one mom I will be his number one wife:)

I love her even if she does not care for me because with out her I would not have Kai.

ANYWAY enough of my crabbiness..I am still sick with the headcold and flue BLAH..I feel better but my ears and throat feel horrid!

I hope that everyone is doing wonderful!!! let me know how your holiday went!! I worked but was able to spend a lil time with my son daughter in law to be ..daughter and son in law and the grandbabies...had FUN was to short though:(

anyway WHAT did you all do and what did you get???

Thanks Kath for your input - I'm starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere.

Quick question: I have only ever lived in Queensland (love the tropics too much!) so would I still apply for the Australia wide police check WITH fingerprints?

The website says: Police Certificate based on an Australia-wide check of name and fingerprints: $153.70. Is this the one???

There is also some kind a Australian Police Certificate that can be obtained from the Federal Police....which one is it?.

Cheers

Yep, you need the fingerprints one. I guess they must've raised the prices though because when I got it in July it was $146 soemthing.

The one you get from QLD police covers the whole of Australia

Thanks Kath, yes I had fingerprints and applied for the police certificate yesterday and its now bumped up to $153.70 in Queensland. I must say I felt a lil bit like a crim, standing there in the cop station with ink all over my fingers, with coppers walking past looking at me suspiciously....lol.

What is the latest on the vegemite saga? Are we allowed to take some over? I also couldn't find any corn relish in Texas - they had never heard of it! :o

Grats Annex!!!!

To say Im jealous atm the moment would be an understatement!

Anyhow hoping to get some advice here.

I know that I need to get a police check (Fingerprints thingy) and medical before I can get approved at my interview, and that they are both vaild for 12 months once they occur. I haven't gotten my NOA2 yet but if we have no more carrying on from USCIS and DISCO we should be on track to our notice in the next couple of weeks.

Should I head down to the local Police station next week and do the police check (should take 3 weeks for the results right) and then book the Medical once the NOA2 arrives?

I am really hoping on a quick turn around at this end of the scale because my current situation (living with my parents/sister, working in a job i should have been out of when I got my degree, having no car to go and visit mates or do anything and generally not being able to do anything thats helping me go forward) is driving me nuts.

I have a draw of stuff that I will take with me as proof to my interview, will be starting to print them off next week, what is the best way to display them? In a folder sorted into sections or just bundle them in groups with paper clips?

Also Chris is planning on Scanning me our orginal submited package (he has posted it 3 times to no advail) can he scan the documents I need to take with me to sydney as well or do they need to be posted/the orginal copies ?

Any suggestions?

Hang in there!!! You're on the home stretch!

I just rocked up to the Police Station and filled out the application for Police Cert. with fingerprint check. All you need is your Drivers License as I.D and $153.70. On the form it has capacity for the documents to be forwarded direclty to the relevant Embassy. In my case with the IR1/CR1 Visa, I need to post it back with my application to the NVC in the states, so I left that bit blank so they would mail it to my home address - At least they better! lol They said it will take 2-4 weeks so definitely apply now.
