you to??? we got 3 inches today BAH and all this week more...I MISS SUMMER LOL...I fell in this stuff today and bruised my ribs and lower back up...IM OKAY ..sore as heck though...

We got dressed up in our warm winter gear to go for a walk.. walked outside, made it down the street and around the corner then came right back! There was a thin layer of ice under the snow and I didn't want to risk killing myself.

Does it snow lots out there? If it does I highly recommend Yaktrax http://www.yaktrax.com/

When I lived in northern Japan (tonnes of snow) I wore these on my shoes and they kept me from falling over

Hi Everyone, thanks to the wonderful Kath for messaging me after reading one of my "Blonde Posts" am still new here, and finding my way around and trying to understand the "jargon" everyone speaks, and no im not blonde im a dinky dye Redhead lol.. but will get there i guess. The people and posts and guidelines here have saved my Sanity, along with a nice bottle of West Australian Classic Dry white.. going through the US Govt web sites trying to figure out what we needed was a minefield.. and here its all layed out for you.. what a save!

Kath thanks so much for sending the the "Down Under Thread" will make my life so much easier asking questions that pertain to us Aussies and truly appreciate your help.

Am going to be finalising my package over the Christmas Break and sending off to Leo so he can submit it to the Vermont Service Centre in January, so may be back in here sooner than you think asking for assistance ..

that is great news congrats to you both..now the fun part begins of running around getting all stuff ready for your interview...

dont forget you can get your ammune testing for the vaccinations done at your local doctor ... go to the sydney embassey website to look at the medical forms and requirements...

let us know when your interview will be please...am happy for you both...

I am from Cairns and therefore the kids and I will have to have the medical done in Brisbane. Does anyone have a listing of the Brisbane physicians? I can't find it! There used to be a Dr. in Cairns who was recognised and she no longer does it.

Sorry scrap that! I just found out that someone in Cairns is now an identified Panel Physician which is great (for $275 a pop, mind you - same price for kids!).

I have 2 children immigrating with me to the U.S. so I need some kind of LEGAL DOCUMENT from their biological father.

This is what it says in the website:

Child custody

Any minor child immigrating with a parent or who has been petitioned for on his or her own must submit custody information. This may include:

A court “Order of Residence” & “Relocation Order” verifying sole custody of the immigrating parent, or

A legal document from the child’s other parent advising of his/her knowledge and consent for the child to live indefinitely in the United States. This must include a copy of a photo ID of that parent; or

A certified death certificate of the other parent

In my case it will be consent from my ex-husband. What kind of document do they mean? Affidavit?

is that the doctor you were talking about mate

from what i just read about in your post mate..its asking if you have any documentation (legal) stating you have sole custody of the children..if it is shared..you have to have a letter from their other parent stating that he acknowledges the fact that the children will be living in the states with his consent..i would think it should be and sworn affidavit stating the fact with a copy of his id...this can be done at any police station or with a justice of the peace...if your really want to make sure your on the right track i would email the consulate..but that is how i am reading it...

wondering is there any others that had children could help you...would need to do a search to find them for you..

just piping in to add,...all i had was a letter typed up by my ex in regards to the ex stating he knew the kids were leaving oz and moving to the USA,..and he signed it,..with contact numbers and a copy of his passport,..none of it was witnessed by a JP, or notarised,..and it was accepted,..

Editted to add:they came to live with me in Germany first(new hubster is US MILITARY), didn't need anything there, just needed the letter when doing the i-130 from Frankfurt. I think it helped that they were living with me anyways in Germany prior to Immigrating.

I think what Kath gave you was sound advise...

THEN tomorrow we are to hit about 0 or 2 below (celius is about -17 or -18 for 0f and for -2 is about -19)

It has NOT been this cold in over 15 years here i guess and farmers are scared. We all are. We lost hot water for a day so thank god we had some portable heaters to put RIGHT on the dang pipes!!!

I need to call NVC tomorrow and find out if our NOA2 has arrived (it should I hope!!) and see if it was sent to the Embassy.

I was able to send Kai off a crissy prezzie and I know he will FREAK!! So I am happy about that!!!

Brrr Cham! and here I am freezing my butt off in the 29F "cold"

The snow & ice we had from the weekend was finally gone by yesterday afternoon but we had another one overnight and this time there's about 2-3 inches on the ground. So in true Seattle style I've called in absent to work I might try going in midday if it's melted a bit but for now I'm staying put.

HUGE QUESTION

Since the Embassy states with my ssi from my accident that I make the 125% povertyy level with my job. DO i need a letter from the bank??? I do have a print out of my deposits, the tax papers bosses letter stating she will help me meet the 125% level with overtime as well.

I pray we are okay I have a good feeling about it. Just need reasurance so I do not have to breathe into the brown paper bag again LOL
