You need to send him the I-134 and supporting documents. If you are compiling the proof of relationship info, send that as well. You'll probably want to do that as soon as possible. When I sent my packet it took a week to go from San Francisco to Melbourne and it cost $61.00!! I probably could have gotten a cheaper deal if I sent it regular post instead of UPS, but I wanted it there fairly soon. Still.. $61.00 (plus 10.00 for notarization)!!!!

The other forms are for him to fill out.

Also once your case is processed by the NVC you can call them and get a case number. I think you need that for medical/police certificates if your fiance's state sends those things direct to the consulate.

btw.. the links on that site are kind of hard to see (gray) but there are lots of them on that page. From that page you can find all the forms and info on the medical/police certificate process by state.

woohoo! Got our interview date. January 6th, the consulate let us have one of the dates we requested while I'll be there over Christmas. So yay! I leave for Australia next sat. =)

Speaking of which, maybe you aussies can help. I want to bring a present for my fiance's family of stuff that is uniquely american/californian, but I cant think of what! Seems that everything I can think of (napa valley wine, specialty chocolates, etc) already has an Australian equivalent that is probably better! So what sorts of things can you find in America that you cant find very easily in Australia? (that isnt gross like spray cheese)

Congrats on the interview date! Do you guys have Made in California stores down there? We have Made in Washington and Made in Oregon gift shops up here in the northwest and they're great for finding nice gifts for out of town guests. I recently sent my parents their christmas package and filled it with some food, tea & coffee I got from the Made in Washington store

otherwise do they like chocolates? Ghirardelli is one they can't get in Australia and a lot of my Aussie friends who have been to the States always take lots back with them. Don't worry if there is an Australian equivalent.. to them it's still different and new and something to be excited about

hiya annax

just had a thought on your question of what to get your future family...i collect the state teddies for my daughter..if i go into another state or land in another state i buy one...i do shot glasses for my son...californian teddy would be a good pressie just to sit on the book shelf and when they look at it they will think of you two over here...you could find a good photo taken professionally of the town you live...and get it framed over in oz for them..

take some reece cups i know you cant get that over there..there are so many different types of that one.or some toostie rolls for the kids in the family..maybe a more closer to the heart might be a photo of you and your fiance when he visited you in california...also..what about those flags that people fly outside their homes with something califorian..i took my mum a ohio one with all the different things that are uniquely to ohio...or just buy them a phonecard so they can call you two anytime...from what i rememer it was cheaper for me to call here than it is to call oz...i would get more hours in airtime than robert..

i am sure whatever you decide to take over for them they would appreciate....

i know i gabbled on sorry about that..you should hear me when im on the phone lol.. im sure susan has a sore ear everytime we talk lol

Kath love

YES I received this letter from the Sydney Embassy

Thank you for your inquiry.

If there are only 2 members for your household size and if you are not residing in Hawaii or Alaska, the poverty guidelines for 2 persons is US$17,500 in annual salary.

Your income is US$16,292 plus SSI is US$6,912. Therefore, your total income per year is US$23,204. This meets the 125% poverty guidelines which means you don’t need a second job or a joint sponsor to meet the poverty guidelines.

If my calculations are incorrect, please advise, however, you may include your SSI income to your annual salary of US$16,2 92.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Visa Assistant

U.S. Consulate General

Immigrant Visa Unit

Level 59 MLC Centre

hi goonluka

within your packet 3 did it state how payment was to be done...but thinking on it that might be in packet 4 when you get your interview date...

when i did the k1 in 2006 we had to go to the post office and pay the fee prior to the interview then put it in my passport for them to see that it was paid...i have a scanned copy of it if you want to see it ...

do a scroll back or go into the embassey reviews to see who has done their k1 interview recently then send them a message to find out what they did...also go onto the consulate website and do a search on there..

i know i havent been much help but thats all i can come up with at the moment..

cham that is fantastic news from the consulate...way cool...where in oz does kia reside...

hey there susan

awwww your a duck ...we both good gasbaggers huh lol...and i also enjoy talking to ya .. lifts ya spirits to talk to an aussie over here...

ohhh yeah...hope all is well with sharyna might have to see when she was on last to see if she has announced it else where...

well i got promoted to supervisor am training for 3 days next week...dont know how i will go lots more pressure but as one manager said to me if you can handle layby and keep your cool you will do fine...if i dont well im not doing it lol...

talk to ya all soon

When and where does the Visa Payment money order go?

Do I send it in with packet 3 back to the consulate?

OR

Do I take it with me for the interview?

Have been reading on here trying to find out and can't seem to find the direct answer, any advice would be greatly appreciated

We didn't send it in with ours as it wasn't on the checklist. They sent us back an email with the remaining things well need to bring with us. Listed on that email was the receipt for the fee.
