omg i cant remember that far back ..... i know i booked my medical in australia as soon as i got my NOA2 .. cause the doc sent it to the consulate once he did it ........ then i just had to wait for a interview date and time and have all papers ready for that.

i am 6 years older then my husband and had no issues at all .... just keep all pictures and video conference files on disk if you can .. maybe they will ask for evidence - maybe not .. depends on who you get at the consulate for the interview ..... however from my experience they were all really nice ........

hubby and i hit our one year anniversary next month and our baby will be borne in what we hope will be 2 weeks .....

Annax - they assign you a date and time for the interview and for the certificate it took me about 2 weeks to get but once you request one you can call some number and ask them for a ETA ....

hmm.. what if you cant make that time? I assume you can probably contact them and get it changed. Were trying (hopefully) to time our interview around a time I can come from the states and go with him.

Annax - I suppose you could re-schedule if you really needed to but they give you plenty of notice (they notified me 3 weeks in advance before my interview date) and I think it's really something worth making time for.

Hello everyone. I just found these regional forums and am happy. I am dying to get a December interview but I am so confused by the Sydney consulate site. It says that I have to request an appointment once all the paperwork is received. Is that true if you are on the CR1/IR1 route through the NVC? Or will the NVC just schedule it for you? We don't have any of the documents that the Sydney consulate is requesting becasue we had to send all of the originals to NVC. I am confused.

I love the idea of decorating every room for each holiday missed. I think that is romantic and cute. I remember when Loke finally got home we had banners everywhere welcoming him.

Make sure you all request copies of your medical from your doctor right then and there so you have copies when you get to America.

When Loke and I got our interview we had no notice whatsoever. They were closing down the office in Sydney because of some conference...Asians Nations Conference or something so they were processiing interviews quickly. He had 1 weeks notice to fly to Sydney from Melbourne so we panicked. If we didnt get in when we did, then it would have added another month to our time. In fact, Sharyna was one of the people that got a good amount of notice because they scheduled her after the conference and we got scheduled before it if I remember correctly.

Nevertheless the consulate will essentially tell you when to come and if you don't like their date, then you run the risk of getting delayed dates a lot of the time. Hope this helps some of you.

It does seem like such a long time ago. I can't even believe Loke and I am almost to our two year anniversary. It was such a long and hard journey though. I remember that ache and I will never forget what it was like to be without him. I found this great website that lets you order things from Australia so I got him some Cherry Ripes and BBQ Shapes which made him happy. YAY!

10/10/2011 - 2 year wedding anniversary - Chris to be granted Australian Permanent Residency

Summer 2012 - Planned immigration to USA.

god i hope they dont give me two months notice. I'm really hoping to time this around a christmas visit. so anytime in the dec 15 - jan 9th range would be ideal.

Do you guys know:

the medical / police information is submitted directly to the consulate right? It doesn't come to your fiance? If so do you need to have these things complete before you send in the readiness? Or can you send it once you have all those things booked and the rest of your paperwork in order. If you have to wait, how do you know once they have it?
