Hey guys!

On average... How long does Sydney take to mail out packet three?

It took about 8 days for us. I'd say give it a week or two.

Ahh, sweet. Thanks.

Uhm... One more question... Sorry...

The "sponsor's financial responsibility under the social security act." thingy, do we get a copy of that form in package three? I saw a pdf of it, but it seemed blurred. What exactly do I do with it? Just send the form off to my fiance so he can sign it, and then send it back to me?

It took exactly 8 days for us to receive packet 3 too! About the financial responsibility thing, my fiance did not receive that in his packet 3, so I have no idea how we're supposed to get it for the interview...? I sort of figured if we needed it, they'd have sent it, but then somewhere on here it says Sydney requires it. So maybe someone else can help us out?

Well, I got my Christmas wish (but not exactly too ecstatic about it though)....got my interview date for January 2. I should be really happy but I've got enough stress to worry about right now and then they gave me a week & 2 days!!!!!!!!!! (I know, I know, I should be grateful).

I'm not mentally prepared for this so I think we're going to ask, beg, plead for a re-schedule :(

But on a happier note, have a lovely Christmas everybody!!!!!!!!!!!! (wherever you may be....)

They used up all 3 for mine. They used one for the form that the Dr. fills out. One for the blood test request. One for the X-Ray.

But I think you mentioned you already had your HIV & Syphillis test done, so maybe that's why they didn't use it? But for the X-Ray they definitely needed my photo to be on there.

But then again, we are going for different visas so the forms may be different. Yeah, that would have to be it. ::shrugs::

In the packet three, do you get medical exam information and a list of required immunizations? Or does it get sent in packet four?

Hi!! You do get the medical exam info in packet 3, and I think it has info about required immunizations too. When you call to schedule your medical, you can check with the physician on the immunizations you need for your age group. I think it's basically MMR, Td (tetanus/diptheria), and Vacirella.

Merry Christmas to you!!

A very merry Christmas to all!

Pat - Congrats on the interview date! Well its a good thing you have been on the ball and you're all prepared.. you just have to get your mind there! ;-) My interview is Jan 22nd and that's close enough! But I am still waiting on medical report. You have all you need so you'll be JUST fine. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for all the replies on the passport picture too... I guess I'll make those copies!

On entry to the US while a CR1 visa is pending, well... I'm here and having a wonderful time with my other half. Customs were kind to me. The customs officer was about to pass me through and decided he wanted to ask me a question about who lived at the address i put down on my landing card. I answered "my husband" and there were no further questions.. so I walked on through!

I trust everybody had a wonderful and happy Christmas! I was lucky that I got to spent mine with Zach this year and not only that, he got to spend it with my family too.

Speaking of Zach, he left to go back to the US early this morning. Very, very sad. More tears than usual but I think most of the tears he shed was for my family who (unfortunately) won't be coming to the US to marry him :D He has become really close to all of them after over 4 1/2 years here so it was a very sad day. But we both knew this day would come...

Pat - Congrats on the interview date! Well its a good thing you have been on the ball and you're all prepared.. you just have to get your mind there! ;-) My interview is Jan 22nd and that's close enough! But I am still waiting on medical report. You have all you need so you'll be JUST fine. GOOD LUCK!

Confession time. We notarized our Affidavit of Support wrong so I'm going to Sydney without ALL of my required forms. But the Consulate has given us the OK to come on ahead and just send the forms when they come in. The thing is, I'm still hoping it will get to me by Monday - even if Zach has to courier it (door to door even). He is going to get a JP to notarize it at the St Louis airport as soon as he steps off the plane tomorrow and sending it over my way. I'm not getting my hopes up that it'll get to me (unless we're prepared to pay a small fortune to make it happen).

So yeah, even though I kept preaching that one should wait to get all their paperwork done before sending the "Ready to be Interviewed Form", I failed it myself! Oops. So wish me luck, guys. I'm mentally prepared for this - I have nothing to hide and my intentions are genuine towards starting my life with Zach in the US. I guess the "rush" of it all just got me flustered. Like I said, I should have been grateful I got such an early date.

All the best to everybody else!

To anyone who may be concerned... I e-mailed the Sydney consulate about form DS-1858 - Sponsor's Financial Responsibility Under The Social Security Act. They replied back to me today saying that it is no longer a required form. B)

To Our Dear Visa Journey Friends,

I know that it has been awhile since I have been here to check up on you and your progress and I am sorry about that. With two kids and the Christmas holidays, Loke and I have been extremely busy and unable to even check our e-mail most of the time. I hope that all of you are doing well and that things are progressing for you in your journey. I know that many of you have come so far and I hope you hold on because it does get easier.

Life has been wonderful since Loke has been home and we owe it all to your support and all of your help through our journey. If there is any way that we can help you through yours, please don't hesitate to e-mail or ask us.

On January 11th (January 12th in Australia)Loke and I will be going for our final adjustment of status interview. We are getting all of our paperwork prepared and we are pretty confident about the whole thing. I will let you know how that goes. He finally got his SSN and his EAD and now he has a car so he is mobile :o It snows a lot here so he is getting adjusted to the change in weather.

In March, we are flying back out to Australia to Perth and staying in Fremantle for a couple of weeks so I am completely excited about it. I miss Australia so much and the thought of going back there just makes me soar.

I hope that all of you had a very Merry Christmas and that you have a wonderful New Year!

With all of love, hope and support,

Rings & Loke
