She's so sweet, and yes I did know about that. Stewart refuses to go...I can't figure out why - something about the team or the rugby part? Dunno.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Hi there.. I have had my eye on your time line over the past few days.. kind of as a guide on my own I guess...

I was hoping I could ask you a few questions?

I was wondering, did you go ahead and do your medical and get your police certificate ahead of time? Or did you wait until you received instruction to do so in the mail?

Congrats on the interview too, I'm sure all will go well!

I can only hope that your time line moves along as quickly as yours! ;-)

Sure fire away...

My wife could only schedule the medical after she received the packet from the Consulate (after case complete at the NVC and then forwarded to the Sydney Consulate).

As for the Police cert, yes go and get that now. It takes about 2 weeks to process.

Also I have started seeing some posts in the NVC / IR1-CR1 forums about Standard Processing going away by Oct 1st. After that all will be Appointment Posts. Basically it means that the USC would have to get all the paperwork (Police cert, marriage cert, birth cert, etc.) from their foreign spouse. At that point it would be best to get all those ready. I am not sure if this will be across the board but a recent post by someone there mentioned the NVC rep told them that.

Good Luck!

Hey! Thanks for the info Alex..

Will go ahead and get my police certificate sorted..

Did you just email the general Sydney email address to ask to your interview to be pushed forward? You have saved yourselves quite a bit of time there.. it's great..

If you could let me know that would be great because I am going to try and do the same when my time comes :-)

Take care.. and thanks again..

Yep. Once we got the case complete message that told us the case has been forwarded on a specific date (there will be TWO types of case complete auto messages on the NVC phone system) I waited a week before emailing the consulate to confirm it's arrival.

At that point, they simply returned confirmation and gave me the interview date. After I received that info I asked them if they could give us an earlier date (waitlist) if possible. Well they did! First time, they had an opening the next week LOL! It was too soon. Then they just sent a letter with a new date to my wife for Oct. 26th! I initially asked for late October and they came through.

Just be sure to include the case number, petitioner and beneficiary info with each correspondence. I think it helps speed up replies in my opinion.
