I informed my husband about the possibility of a december/january interview. He was saddened, but looked on the bright side. If it is that late, thats more time for him to prepare and get things more organized.

Plus, for me, if it's not till that time, I get one more aussie christmas, plus I guess I do like the idea of starting off in a new country at the beginning of the year. Yeah yeah, I'm looking for excuses :P CURSE YOU APEC! We beat the price hike from USCIS, only to be slammed in the face with APEC :(

The Beginning

September 29th, 1999 - 'hooked' up with Dave after chatting with him for about a year online.

October 23rd, 2004 - September 29th, 5 years to the day, he proposed to me =D

July 23rd, 2005 - Dave comes over for the wedding on July 27th at the beach :)

Sometime in December, he sends off I-130 to Texas and promptly leaves me in the dark like a mushroom x.X...

The Saga Continues *dumdeduuummm*

August - phone NVC. intriguing :\ Phoned again, ah hah! the truth... no record of us >< losers... Go and visit Dave for 3 months...

End of January, we sent the petition back in again. 2 weeks later, we actually get a number in our hot little hands.

April 5th - NOA2 approved!

April sometime, received and sent back Choice of Agent

May 18th - Received IV Bill

May 28th - Sent IV Bill MO back

June 11th - DS-230 generated

July 12th - Received and sent back DS-230 packet

July 19th - NVC Sent Husband checklist of AoS. They forgot to fill in N/A fills with.... N/A x.X

July 23rd - DS-230 entered

July 26th - NVC received checklist regarding financial suppliment (ie, got a talking to on the phone :P)

August 1st - sent financial papers back

August 3rd - (Automatic msg) Financial records lacking! ARGH!~

August 7th - Received actual fixed paperwork - 'processing'

August 17th - NVC COMPLETED CASE!~

September 10th - Received packet 3

September 17th - Medical in Brisbane

November 14th - Interview VISA GRANTED

December 8th - Landed in USA

December 24th - GreenCard Arrives

Having the interview later does mean that I can get all the mundane "things" out of the way, but Its still little annoying as I have all my paper work ready to go! Bloody APEC I suppose that it means I can save more money but miss our first wedding anniversary and my wifes birthday. Apparently patience is a virtue.

Posted

I'm missing my husband's 30th birthday *and I SO wanted to throw him an 'over-the-hill' birthday, complete with party hats :\*, as well as being their for his last chemo dose. Missed out first AND second anniversary too :\

So much has happened this year that, as a wife, by default I should have been there for him, but because of USCIS *back in 2005 losing our petition* and now APEC, I get to miss out on them. Halloween, Thanksgiving, his Birthday, last dose of chemo, Light the Night walk (Fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma)... and all of this is in the next few months, let alone everything that HAS happened...

I dunno, I was so looking forward to his birthday and all that jazz, but then I think about a December Interview and think that the preparation time isn't all too bad either...

LOL, I have the paperwork! I have no criminal records or communicable diseases! He can support me! Why can't you just sign it?! We've been married for 2 years.. dated since 1999! SIIIGGGNNN IIIITTTTT, oh wells :\ hehe

A December interview would be ok but January is next year and seems so much further away! I have no police record, medical was fine have the affidavit of support and have packed away the house. Give me the interview, pleeease! Its good to know that I am not the only one in this situation.

Hi Sharyna,

Good for you! Time will fly. The Consulate replied and told me they would put my wife on a waiting list for any openings in late October. She scheduled her medical for this Thursday. Dr Waks is out on holiday until October 16th but the letter showed two doctors so she is meeting with the other one. They said results take about 2 weeks or so. It leads into early October. Hopefully timing will be right and once she has all her paperwork (police certificate should be arriving soon) done, maybe an opening will pop up. *FINGERS CROSSED*

Congrats Niphredil and Tony!

Niphredil, have you heard back about what to do with the police certificate? Can you just bring it with you? My wife got hers yesterday but I asked her to leave it sealed for now. I just want to make sure the Consulate doesn't want to see it first (which I doubt).

Sharyna, I bet they will mail it to the consulate as well. Good point about asking for copies.

Also, we got an email for an opening Wed, Sep. 19th LOL. That was a little TOO soon!

I think we will get other opportunities and she can take advantage living just west of Sydney. Also, the Police certificate (still sealed) and her name change (added middle name) certificate came in! She has everything minus the medical. I hope an opening pops up in the next week or so. Vy will be ready then. I am so happy we are at this stage now. The wait in the beginning was so hard.

Cheers.

Thanks everyone, and grats Tonyr7 :D

Vylex:

I've heard nothing so far :\ I'm just going to take it in with me. I was worried that they wouldn't give me a date till they got it, as they would be expecting it. Don't know if they even got the e-mail. I've received no confirmation unlike NVC that they even have it.

I'm unsure about the interview date letter too, as I only sent the readiness form on Friday. It takes about 4 days to get to Sydney from here. *shrugs* Maybe they got the e-mail and decided to send it out, seeing as how far away the interview date is.

I don't know what goes through these people's heads :P hehe
