kath

Hehe, thanks Kath! Yes it's GORGEOUS here in Airlie Beach. Just came back from Diving at the Reef! WOW! I don't want to go back now.

As for the videos, I was shocked to see how well it was received. I made 3 of them. One that played during our first dance, one during dinner with a family tribute, and the third one was a self-filmed one I played during my groom speech which showed Vy's and my life before and after hehe. That one really had people laughing (especially my wife since it was made for her) so I was happy. Online pics from our photographer should be ready soon. Vy and I can't wait to see how they came out.

Congrats on your wedding Kelli!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well! Oh, I finally received that coveted case complete message!!! Now we wait for Sydney Consulate to do their thing. Time for us to finish the last bits of paperwork.

I had my bio appointment today! It was easy, we arrived 25 minutes early and were out of there right before my appointment was scheduled. Yup, whole thing took less than 25 minutes.

- We went in, showed the guy at the front desk my appointment letter, my passport with visa and our marriage certificate.

- He put my stuff on a clip board and gave me a sheet of paper and a pencil and asked us to sit down and fill it out and give it to a lady at another desk further in.

- Basic stuff, address, eye color, hair color and so on... gave it to the lady who gave me a number.

- Within 5 minutes my number came up and an older man came over and took me to a fingerprint computer console. DH followed, the guy was happy to let DH watch and gave him a chair to sit in, even though there's a sign that says that you have to be alone, or with an interpreter if absolutely necessary. It was all pretty casual.

- He entered my details into the computer and then took my finger prints and finger rolls, all pretty normal stuff.

- He then got me to sit down and he took my picture.

- Then he said "we're done, see you later!" and we left and came home.

- Well okay, first we went to Baja Fresh :D

More good news is we had time to go to the Social Security office and change my name before my bio appointment. There were a whole lot less people there than there were last time and we were in and out in exactly half an hour. What an easy day. The SS office is back in my good books. My new SS card should be arriving any day, along with the prospect of getting my license, my bank account and other things in my correct name. Between going to the SS office (we allowed over 3 hours cos that's how long it took last time) and going to the bio appointment we headed over to Ikea and bought a groovy lamp, a bedside table lamp, some photo frames and a couple of other small bits and pieces.

Joyful am I! I had a good day.

Thats great news Jezz! I had it pretty easy when I went to SS office.....in and out in 15 minutes!

When you applied for your AOS and EAD, was that all included in the price....I have to pay $1010 (or something like that) and I ws wondering if the cost of the EAD was included in that. I am just waiting for my vaccination supplement to come in the mail, then I can send it all off!

Hope everyone is doing well.

KeLLi

,..I sent you a reply to this when you posted something similar a few days ago,...I think you are better off going the AOS route...read my reply before, it was a cut and paste from an instruction page for the EAD.

The cost of the EAD is included in the AOS package,...If you read up a lil more on the USCIS site about the AOS, Im sure you will get some more guidance...This is from the AOS page...

Application To Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

Purpose of Form :

To apply to adjust your status to that of a permanent resident of the United States.

Number of Pages :

Instructions: 10; Form: 4.

Where to File :

Please see Special Instructions

Filing Fee :

$930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. Exceptions listed below. There is no fee for applicants who are filing Form I-485 based on having been admitted to the United States as a refugee. Applicants 79 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930. Applicants under 14 years of age: - Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $600 - Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $930

Special Instructions :

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for advance parole on Form I-131 and/or employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-131 and I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-131 and/or I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-131 and/or I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of the receipt for your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

The underlined indicates to me that AP, and EAD is included in the price. But you must send the I-131, and I-765, in at the same time as your AOS application.

IF you send those other 2 in later, you must send a copy of the NOA1 for the AOS app, to prove you have already filed AOS, and have paid for such.

Hi folks,

Does anyone know how long it takes a case completed packet to get to the Sydney Consulate? I tried using the DHL tracking method reposted by Kath. Apparently there are too many packages with "correspondence" from the NVC for the DHL tracking system to show.

Thanks!

A happy hello to all - veterans and newcomers :) :) :)

I disappeared way back when I got approved and ever since it seemed to be always more to do than I could manage!

Special hello to those who remember me back from March this year... and a big welcome to all who joined since!

I did take time to look at the last 30 odd pages (for those who are on page 85!) and saw many wonderful posts with a lot of good things happening all around! Great to see and uplifting! And to those who at any time felt more challenged than they could care to put up with... sending big hugs and well wishes your way! Rings and Loke... condolences for your loss in the family. :( Good that Loke has you to lean on and come back to!

Thanks all for sharing.

Hope to spend more time in here from now on.

Wishing everyone sunny and enjoyable Labour :) Day (can't give up on our spelling yet!!)

xoxo
