but i bet your looking forward to your honey arriving though huh...

hi jess..

thats great that you have your bio appointment...we had to travel to detroit for ours ...it doesnt take long at all...show id passport and your letter fill out info sheet and wait to be called.. mine only took about 15 mins...

make sure your hands are clean...ohh and another thing...the passport photo's you sent in with the application aren't used on your greencard...the photo they take on the day of fingerprinting is the one they use...i was spewin the passport photo's were better than theirs lol..they take all 10 fingers too so dont put any hand cream on before you leave....

wonder where all the others have got to.. hi to them...

Kath, Good luck buying a house! That is exciting news!

What you're referring to is the Montgomery GI bill, it is a VERY good thing. Tony has been paying into it for college. :)

Thanks for the tips about the fingerprinting. Should be a fun day :D

WOOHOO :D

NVC finally completed our case on the 17th. Phew.

Though I do amuse at the idea of it going out of overworked American workers because of the fee rise, to now go to overworked Australian workers because of APEC :P

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, but that light is definitly looking a lot brighter at the end of the tunnel!

The Beginning

September 29th, 1999 - 'hooked' up with Dave after chatting with him for about a year online.

October 23rd, 2004 - September 29th, 5 years to the day, he proposed to me =D

July 23rd, 2005 - Dave comes over for the wedding on July 27th at the beach :)

Sometime in December, he sends off I-130 to Texas and promptly leaves me in the dark like a mushroom x.X...

The Saga Continues *dumdeduuummm*

August - phone NVC. intriguing :\ Phoned again, ah hah! the truth... no record of us >< losers... Go and visit Dave for 3 months...

End of January, we sent the petition back in again. 2 weeks later, we actually get a number in our hot little hands.

April 5th - NOA2 approved!

April sometime, received and sent back Choice of Agent

May 18th - Received IV Bill

May 28th - Sent IV Bill MO back

June 11th - DS-230 generated

July 12th - Received and sent back DS-230 packet

July 19th - NVC Sent Husband checklist of AoS. They forgot to fill in N/A fills with.... N/A x.X

July 23rd - DS-230 entered

July 26th - NVC received checklist regarding financial suppliment (ie, got a talking to on the phone :P)

August 1st - sent financial papers back

August 3rd - (Automatic msg) Financial records lacking! ARGH!~

August 7th - Received actual fixed paperwork - 'processing'

August 17th - NVC COMPLETED CASE!~

September 10th - Received packet 3

September 17th - Medical in Brisbane

November 14th - Interview VISA GRANTED

December 8th - Landed in USA

December 24th - GreenCard Arrives

Heavy Heart again,...My hubby left today on a flight back to Kuwait...then back to Iraq when a flight is available.

Had the most amazing time in Malta. In fact the whole 18 days were wonderful,...oh well 10 months down, 5 more to go!!!

Kath,..is it a VA loan your looking at?...As I thought Montgomery GI Bill was only for education,..I may be mistaken, but I thought thats how it was.

Anyways,...hugs to you all, hope everyone has had an awesome weekend,..

Me too Jodie, The Montgomery GI Bill is just for education... but the original bill before Montgomery revamped it in the 80's was the GI Bill and included all that stuff together and was colloquially called the GI Bill. :) But yeah, Kath is referring to a VA loan. A very nice loan arrangement it is too, we're going to be using it sometime in the future.

Congrats Sugarbob & Moonie... one step further towards AOS

Looks like Loke is going home already :(

He had a death in the family and will have to go home this week. I think that the K3 allows him to travel in and out of the country because when I went to apply for the AP, the form said that he would not need it if he was K3. I am hoping this is right and I think I just need reassurance that this is not going to mess up the Adjustment of Status for us. Any thoughts are so greatly appreciated.

*hugs*

dont quote me but i think i read somewhere that if you tell the appropriate people that your leaving is for family reasons that is an emergency you can... i think there might be a specific time frame for you to be out of the country as it were..........

have you emailed the consulate maybe?.... or called USCIS?

Posted (edited)

hi ya rings .. sorry to hear about a death in the family..

take a lok at this might help mate...i think it was nia something 3rd post down in that post...

this is what she/he wrote:

You have posted this in the K3 forum if you are approved for a K3 visa you do not need an AP until the K3 has expired (2 years after entry to the US)..

good reason for an AP

so be looks of it Loke can travel back to oz and get back in on his K3 visa cos it hasnt expired mate..i would take a copy of the NOA1 with me to show at the POE to get back just in case they ask for it and anything else that has his american home address on it...

hope the above helps mate ....

take care

kath

ps if your still concerned about it you can always mate an info pass to get the facts right or ring USCIS about it...
