So that being said, I would like to show you all something ...

This was beautifully written, thank you for sharing:

I can't say it any better than my wife has said it.

I try to stay positive - not just for me but for Rings, who I love and cherish and worry about, and who I want to be strong for. I don't always succeed. Many of these days I feel like I am only half a person, trying to fill my days with things that might mean something to anyone else but to me they are just ways to get through the time while my life sits on somebody's desk waiting to be processed.

I know I should be thankful that we are on our way. I should be thankful that I have such a wonderful wife and so much to look forward to. I should be thankful that I have been given the chance to love and to be loved. I should be thankful my story hasn't yet become like some I have read here, including those of some of you who have posted here in this thread. I should be happy that I still have hope, and that I may be home by Christmas if everything goes smoothly.

My heart breaks for any of you who have had to wait, who have been questioned or denied even though your love is real. I do understand why the process is difficult, and why the US government needs to determine that relationships and marriages are genuine. But while I know that they are just being careful, I desperately wish that they could just see us together, just look at the love in our eyes and know that we are doing this because we cannot live without our love. I wish that I could make them understand the hurt that we go through every day that we are forced to wait.

I wish...

I wish so many things, but most of all I just wish I could begin my life with the girl I want to grow old with.

To all of you who hurt, who have been made to wait, who have been questioned and refused and who have had to justify your love to some government employee...I hope your life after this awful wait is filled with happiness and fulfilment, enough to wash away the pain that leads to the beginning of something truly magical.

aww, that's beautiful. hugs all around. :)

Awe I am sure Loke will thank all of you for the appreciation of his words. ( He is frantically packing at the moment :) )

Just remember that although we are happy, we do remember where you are and what you are going through and we will never forget the pain and the sorrow involved. We are here for you to support you and hold you up in the best way that we know how.

I know this process is hard and it's not only hard... it's horrid and hurtful and mean and unfair... there are no words that do the pain justice. There is nothing anyone can say that will seem right or that will take away the ache, but knowing that we do know and that we do understand and that we have gone through it may at least help you in knowing that you are with people who understand more than you think and that fully support you.

Remember to wish those who have sucess well and remember to try your best to help those who don't because we are all in the same place, just different areas.

This is a quote I wrote and I think it fits:

Some people like to go up

Some people like to go down

Some people like to stay right in the middle,

but nevertheless we are all stuck on the same damn elevator listening to the crappy music that no one knows how to turn off.

I got up to level 10 at 7.45 and my appointment was set for 8. There was a line for the first security point. But the time I got to level 59 and took my ticket it was around 8.15. I got ticket 3. Hey, if you get there at 7.30 on the dot you may very well get ticket 1. Getting ticket 1 or 2 is preferable since they only have two windows so they do two lots of people at a time. Still, even though I was number 3 and had to wait for number 1 to finish, I was still out of there by 9.30 :D

sending everyone positivity...

a quick question. i checked the guide for the affidavit of support, and it stated that there is a second form required for sydney (financial responsibility under the social security act). meowboy did not send me that form to fill out. is that really required or is the guide incorrect?

Also, shoudl I jsut estimate the cost of my car (other personal property)?

Yup! Only one affidavit of support form needed AT THIS STAGE :) Some other countries are different I have noticed.

At the Adjustment Of Status stage, another Affidavit of Support form is needed, but for the interview, just the one for the K-1 Visa!

I may be way off on this...but maybe this is what it was pertaining to? This is from the instructions from the I-134 that was sent in Darryl's packet 3.

And yes, that is what I did...I estimated. But would be able to back up if needed..value of cars, personal property, etc.

Ok damn! Can we not insert pics that is saved on our own computer...looks as if we can only link to a web address. That sucks. Or am I doing something wrong?

Anyway, it talks about the social security act and it is all related to AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children), TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, and Food Stamps.

You only need the I-134 for the interview in Sydney, when you adjust status then you will have to fill out the I-864 and that is a lot more detailed. I recommend that you provide backup for any finances that you claim because they will need that. Here is a breakdown on what I did and this will help you:

I printed out a years worth of bank statements to prove the total amount deposited within a year because my bank would not provide that information, if your bank does provide it, then stop in the bank and ask them for a letter of verification (They will only do this for you if you have the I-134 instructions with you so you can show them the reason that you need it) They should list the following details on your letter:

1. Current amount in the bank (Good to this this right after you get paid for added advantage)

2. Total amount deposited within a year

3. Approximate monthly amount deposited

4. How long you have been with the bank (Do not have the bank add this if it has been under a year because it may look as if you opened the account for the purpose of immigration fraud)

5. have the bank manager or representitive sign it and tell them you need it on bonded paper.

6. Get the business card of the person who wrote the statement (I attached this card to the statement when i submitted the affidavit and after I made copies of both the letter and the business card)

7. Your account number, the banks address, etc...

On the I-134 it asks for bank statements from a financial institution... this is what it means. they are actually looking for bank statement to prove income so you can support your spouse, but the more that you can provide for them the better.

I also submitted an entire years worth of my paycheck stubs

You can claim assets such as cars and property, but if you are doing this, then you will have to provide the billing stubs and proof of what is still currently due if you are paying a loan.

For Example:

I have a home that I pay a mortgage on so I had to provide the property value declaration to prove that the value of the property is what I said it was, then I had to prove the amount still due to the financial institution (mortgage holder) so they can see what it is worth and compare it to what I still owe (This is for the I-864 mainly)

I own my car so I have the title, if I want to use this car as an asset that can be sold in an effort to support my spouse, then I will provide the title of the car along with a Kelly Blue Book value of what the car in its current condition can sell for in case of an event that I need to sell it for money. Asset mean jack ####### without backup and supporting documents.

Now just FYI... You do not need to use assets if you already meet 125% of the poverty guidelines. you only need assets if you are trying to reach the poverty guideline. So what I am saying here is that you do not even have to claim you assets if you already make enough money.

THE RUNDOWN- Do not worry about anything but the I-134 for the interview, but make sure that you make enough. If you don't, then start adding assets (if you do not make enough, then start reading the I-864 because you will have to read that anyway and fill that out when you adjust status)

If you do not make enough - Get a co-sponsor ASAP because they will also have to fill out the I-134 for your interview

Many thanks, Rings! That is super helpful!!

I don't think I will submit information on my assets. I am planning on sending:

-the form itself

-a letter from my employer

-a letter from my bank (using the guidelines you suggested). At 9 tomorrow morning, I'll be in front of my bank with a year's worth of statements in hand!
