Hey All,

How is everyone going with their journeys??.....I see Jezz you are getting close and I heard from Elle recently.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Will read up on all that's going on when I feel a bit better. We went to our wedding reception in San Fran and I picked up the Flu and had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics so have been in bed all last weekend. Jake's family was wonderful and so are his friends. His Mum is very unwell but we are hopeful.

We had a fantastic time, they put so much thought into our reception...they even had a big basket of Australian choccies.

We also got our AOS papers in and have received the first NOA and my biometrics appointment is in Denver on July 13.

Anyway, it's off to bed for me....need to rest.

Hope you are all well and happy. Kath and Hammy...hope your jobs are going well.

Cheers

Lyndel

Loke, I can't believe they forgot to print you! I didn't even know they were going to print me until they did, so I wouldn't have noticed it they forgot. Lucky you didn't fly back home!

Awww I'm sorry Sharyna *hugs* I wasn't expecting a three month wait, none of us were! I guess APEC is more time consuming than we thought. Maybe everyone asked for interviews at the same time since they were warned about APEC. I hope it IS a typo! Good luck with the email!

*waves* Hi Paul :) Glad that everything is going well up there for ya.

Thanks so much Hammy! I hope everything is going well at Home Depot! How is your AOS going? Are you going to beat the rate increase???

Wow Sharyna,

Please tell me it's a typo. That would push things back for my wifey should I get through the NVC process in a timely manner. What a pain!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Vylex - I am sorry to hear that APEC may be affecting you :( I hope that it dosen't. I know that it was one of the things that Loke and I were looking at really closely because we did not want to fall into the bracket. We rushed as fast as we could for each step. I am now in a mad rush to beat the rate increase. He is looking to fly home on the 15th I hope and I will send the packet out express immediately after that.

Sharyna - Keep your chin up girl. I hope that your hubby can come and see you and support you through this. I know that I would that sort of support if I could get it.

Oh hello! Good to see a new Aussie around the Land Downunder! I would be careful about trying to switch that appoinment up though because they are jam packed full in an effort to process as many visa's as possible before APEC occurs in Sydney. What that means is that they have you in the bracket before APEC starts and that is good. Sharyna here just got scheduled for October because the consulate is closing down for a couple of weeks. They may try to get you in earlier, but I know that they are booking more visa appointments than normal due to this and the chances of an interview slot being open are probably slim. I would still try for it though if you can do it *hugs*

Hi Rings! Thanks for the support! I am taking things in stride since I am still at the NVC stage. I will be with my wife for a month starting the first week of August so as long as I get the NVC paperwork recieved/sent prior to my departure to Oz I will be ok. If I can get case complete by middle of August (optimistic thoughts of course) then I will happy because once it's at Sydney I won't be as stressed. My wife lives just west of it so it's not a big deal as far as having to visit the consulate.

Loke, thanks for the info about the fingerprints! I'll be sure to inform my wife about it! I guess with the APEC rush they are being a little careless. I'm glad you stuck around! I'm also glad they double checked it and realized they forgot to ask you as well!

sharnya - sorry to hear about the interview date. i hope you can get it changed. you're almost there, just think you will have this time to start organising (get ur resume ready, aussie stuff u want to bring over etc) and spend more time w/ your family. ive had a couple of bad nights were i was getting really homesick so at least if it doesnt get pushed back, you can spend time w/ ur fam :)

vylex - hope your interview date wont be pushed back. seeing you're still in the nvc stage, hopefully not. just think tho, when Vy arrives, she just has to wait for her ssn and green card, you wont have to do any forms (no uscis contact yAy) for 2 years!! btw, heh my ssn got stuffed cuz they didnt put my middle name (the one i worked so hard to get changed!!) so we have to go to the ssa. so look out for that. i dont have to change it, cuz legal name = first and last name... but im just more comfortable w/ everything matching. wont cost anything to get it changed and in fact SSA head office is in balto.

lyndel - i'll try and give ya a call sometime this week. this weekend got a bit hectic w/ 4th of july stuff. glad the wedding reception was lovely :) cant wait to catch up w/ ya!

Paul - glad to hear that home depot is going good. YAY on 8 days of non smoking!!

jezz - u'll be here sooooon!! u must be stoked

rings&loke - *waves* @ the lovebirds up in cloud9 heehee

Just some news...

I GOT MY 10 YEAR GREEN CARD (w/ the right name lol) WOOT WOOT!!!!!:dance::dance:

POE was 20/6 so about 2 weeks to get ssn and green card. I hate my pic on it tho -- so if ur vain like me lol the passport pic you give to the consulate - yes it has to be US size - make sure you look fab cuz its what they use for the greencard!!! i just keep thinking i will only have it for 3 yrs since I intend to be a dual citizen...

Hope everyone is doing good :)

Sharyna, I find myself checking these posts way too often now just to see if there is any news on your interview date. My fingers are crossed for you! I am so hoping that they fowled it up.

I called my fiance right when I read your post last night and we are both so bummed. He is still going to mail back his letter today saying he is ready for his interview. We were really hoping for an Oct. 6 wedding...doesn't seem like that is going to happen now. Plus, his Mom already booked her plane tickets (against our advice) to come over for a wedding. We tried to make it clear when we told everyone we were going to try for Oct. 6 but nothing was guaranteed as of yet. Maybe she didn't understand, I don't know. It all stinks! We've already canceled 1 wedding because of our lawyer and USCIS screwing up...so then was granted a Congressional Inquiry to get us this far. I guess I should at least be grateful for that. But why do I feel so sad today...just tired of things going wrong.

**sorry**....I think I need an attitude adjustment...lol

Hi Valky,

I'm interested in this as J hasn't needed to file his taxes for the previous two years so he won't have them to hand in with the I-864 but he will be writing them and explaining why and I even thought he should try and get something in writing from the IRS to confirm the situation.

I'm curious; how did you hand in your I-864 without it?

Cheers,

Pris.

On the interview date request for a chance- my fiance did request it only be changed if it was possible while I was there. He knew the conference was coming up and didn't want things pushed too far away.

Well, I'm listed as a dependent on my parent's taxes, and that's more of a relief for them than it would be for me, so I've never filed (and never been above the requirement or anywhere near it.) I've also been a student, so not had much income.

My fiance had questioned a former co-worker who moved here to marry a US citizen and he'd said he'd had a similar situation at the time with his fiancee and passed fine, so he turned in the I-184 since my parents' has been available. However, I'm getting worried since I don't know how much things may have changed since then.

Loke, thanks for the update! I'll make sure and notify my fiance that he needs to get his fingerprints taken.
