Hey Katrina

I have been to the USA prior to (MOVING OVER THIS TRIP )a few times..

What I loveeeeeeeeeeee is Corn Beef Hash Browns

with 3 Egg Omlette (dried tomato's ham and cheese)

Sausages and Biscuits and Gravy yummmmmooo :P:P:P

Best had at a Breakfast Diner ..hmmmmmm hungry now..

Probably have it tomorrow morning on way up to New Hampshire with Wifee Cheryl.

Good place to go for anything TAX FREE.. SMOKES.. FOOD.. GAS IS EVEN CHEAPER THERE.

Going to go Sunday as next weekend it's Memorial Day. Weekend.

And every man and his Horse Drawn Carriage will be on the roads

So we'll prolly stay close to home ..

or go for a drive to CAPE COD. To be a Tourist lol..

The Bread here is waaayyy different to Home.. but am getting use to it.

I would Kill for a Vili's Chicken Satay Pie.. and a Buttered White Icing Finger Bun :crying:

Well enough from me now as my stomach is :crying: after mentioning the above foods..lol

Cheers

Paul

HAHA Moonie, your post made me laugh so much :) So familiar!

Although, every American I've met hasn't let me call a biscuit a scone. There has only been steadfast refusal to accept the fact that... a biscuit and a scone is pretty much the same thing! And yes, they are very tasty.

Tony thinks its criminal that we don't get biscuits at KFC. In fact, when he was here we went so he could check it out himself. Dinner roll is not a fair substitution for the "wonders that are biscuits".

I love Pumpkin pizza.... Pumpkin, feta cheese and rosemary right? ooooh sooo good. And when I told Tony about it I got exactly the same reaction that you just gave :)

I'm looking forward to revisiting my old addiction... Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chunk Cookies..... *dribble*

uh... I mean... exercising. :dance::innocent:

Just by reading these food posts I have just gained 5 pounds / 2 kilo's in weight

Amazing when Cheryl and I went shopping in NEW HAMPSHIRE last weekend,

we where at the fish/meat counter at Country Basket..

and all the Fish they sold where all Imported Fish

We talked to the lady behind the counter and she said,

basically it's harder to get locally caught fish than it is

to import other fish from overseas.. places like

Indonesia..and other places..

I love the Ladies that have "samples" to try as you are

walking through some supermarkets..

walk out heavier than what you did when you walked in lol

Ok Nuff from me

Cheers

And speaking of biscuits, I lurve the ones that u buy in the tin, pop it, and then roll it out yourself....I forget what they are called...they look like mini crossonts(don't know how to spell that one) We had those nearly every night....mmmmmmmmmm, and a thick shake from Hardees would be nice too!

Hahaha, Tony sent me a video of himself opening one of those canister things. Was it English muffins? From memory thats what was inside the canister in the video.

Tony was trying to explain what it was, without success, hence the video.

Hey Rings, sorry to hear that it's time for Loke to return to Oz. It won't be long now until you are together again. keep busy and come in here and talk to us when yr down.

Hammy, I know how you are feeling on the job front. An employment agency put me forward as a receptionist but it's only for a month, I don't care what the pay is I just need to get out of the house too so if I get it I take it. Btw Kath's advice about the bread is spot on too...I much prefer italian bread or sour dough over commercial USA bread, you should give it ago if you are missing our bread. Ordinary bread is so sweet here...ewww, thanks for that advice Kath you're a gem. :)

Hey and Kath....WOW good luck with the interview at KMart....you'll get the job though, I just know it!

Mmmm seems EVERyone has an opinion about the food differences between Oz and the USA. Moonie, when I first saw the Popeye Chicken and Biscuits sign, I said to my husband EWWW!!!! and he says "What's your problem?' I said that you don't eat biscuits with savoury food and wow did that start a debate! The cracker, biscuit, cookie debate just does my head in!! Oh and I definitrey hate Corn Beef Hash it looks like canned dog food (no offence to anyone) but I love those Taco Bell 7 dip crunchy wrap thingys...OMG they are good and the peanut butter cups we put them in the freezer yummo needless to say they are now banned from our house. But the bestest, most naughty and nice thing I have tried is dipping crunchy cheesy garlic bread in spagetti sauce. It's an appertiser at Ol Chicago's OMG that was so yummy!

Tritessa, I have had those croissant thingies in the canister and I was unco with rolling them out too...they are nice but very rich! Must be about a trillion calories in each one

Hey Jezz, they call their pumpkins "Squash" except for the big orange ones they use for Halloween, well that is what the lady at safeway told me.

Well, we went up into the Rockies near Woodland Park yesterday fishing...was great!! Sitting on the bank of the lake, was so so pretty with the most wonderful view of Pike's Peak...Colorado is beautiful. Jake caught 2 rainbow trout and I got all sleepy cause of the altitude...I think we were up around 9,000Ft. Was the best day!

Wishing everyone happiness, fun and luck in your journies and all you do this week! :luv:

got my blood tests back... had a tetanus booster (my arm still hurts - where they put the needle feels like its been punched to death lol)....

they told me i should get a measles boost (i had measles as a child), rubella boost and a polio boost - but told me i couldnt get pregnant for 6 months.... so i thought oh what the heck i'll wait to get these boosts...

but my question is...

anyone who has been to the consulate already.... is this vital to have these boosts?
