Thanks so much Paul! I have been frantically checking each day in hopes of seeing some change, but I did not get an e-mail notification so I am assuming that they stuck the petitions into another pile on someones desk. Both of our petitions are somehow at CSC. I hate waiting. I am so damn impatient, but at least Loke is here to tame me for a couple more days

LOL! That's why Americans are generally overweight. Wait until you hit the restaurants. When the wifey came to visit me she gained 5kg in 6 weeks...a lot of which was my fault hehe. She is (or was hehe) a petite girl. We have both been hitting the gym to burn it off again. ;)

Hey Moonie and Vylex,

It is seriously so hard to be at home and not try american snacks and OMG they are good...those peanut butter cup thingys...mmm...my Jake loves them too and that is just one of the naughty things I have tried lately

..and you are so right Vylex about the restaurants...the food is so so good and I love Chilis. I think I have put on about 3kgs since I have been here and that's in a month....ikes!!! :help: ....so I went walking last night and I will be doing the same tonight. It's really hard too cause Jake is big (I married a monster lol ) and being in the Army he works out everyday so he can eat anything...grrrrr...it's not fair

The lady in the vegie area of the supermarket gave me a baby pumpkin free to take home, bake and try (you americans call them squash). That is my dinner tonight cause I am off the junk food! Least pumpkin is low in calories...

sigh.....

Trust I understand that. My sweetie has a high metabolism also. And I love ot get good good! I always said heaven would be me laying in bed and food being brought to me and I would eat and sleep and never gain a pound!

I love Chilli's also... their chicken enchailada soup is so GOOD. But luckily my husband to be is not a big eater so I doubt I will be chowing down like I normally would. I have 20 days to lose the 10 pounds I picked up while we were apart.:blink::pop:

Hee hee hee I comiserate with all this talk of food.... Why does the junk food in the US have to be so easy, cheap and delicious!? My eating habits are irratic at best. I'm trying to lose some weight before I get over there (not much success to be honest). Hubster-to-be eats anything he wants and he still looks great... being in the Navy helps with that... I've warned him that if I eat like him when I get over there I'll be as big as a house before the end of the year! At least I have access to the gym over there so, theoretically I have no excuse not to work out.... I'll have to work out to work off those delectable peanut butter cups.... *dribble*.

So you can get pumpkins over there? What about butternut pumpkin (squash)? Whats the pumpkin situation like? Has canned pumpkin got added sugar?

Fast food is every where! And I am a big fast food eater which is my downfall much easier to go to a drive through than go to the grocery store and actually "cook" something. lol

Ahhhh visa and moving stress / comfort eating / winter = me 4kg heavier than last year! And Im a midget so thats a lot of extra weight for me to be carrying around lol. And with Mr Bottomless Pit arriving ON MONDAY (YAAAAAY  ) he wont be helping.

I am hoping...once I move over there...since I dont drive or anything, when I get to the States and I can just walk to the gym and stuff. But the gym is next door to the grocery store = hersheys, cheese pretzel combos and all them other snacks which make my booty go (__(__) <--- wide load lol....

Lyndel - u smarty pants. You know I'm *loving* the packing :P You love Chili's too?? Ehh girly we def have to meet in person. I absolutely love the food AND the margarita's (mmm presidente margarita) @ chilis!! Im even a member of their loyalty club here in Oz lol No joke! I love their buffalo wingsm fajita nachos and chili cheese fries (which for some odd reason is available in Oz but not in Bmore). Ohhh and their chocolate molten cake.

Jess - Im also trying to lose weight b4 my move .. which is like 4 1/2 weeks away. But with all the packing and Eric being here for 2 of those weeks its like I dont have a fighting chance! I gain weight by just thinking of food :(

Hope everyone is well!

Edit: I cant wait for popeyes chicken and wendys chicken sandwich!! Ohhh and the crabs!!

Hey guys thanks a lot for all of the input. I really appreciate your the thoughtful advice and insights. I think I'm really feeling all the "i want to go out stuff" at this point in time because I've never really gone out since I was legally able to. I was always in at home, even when friends invited me out. I think that's why I'm always wanting to go out now. It's not his fault, more so mine, because I didn't know how to balance having a long distance relationship and having my own life.

But anyhow, I feel like I'm doing the right thing and that if things between us were meant to be, they will happen again later on down the road, but for now I enjoy being single and living for myself. (first time I've done that!!)

Thanks again for the time and thoughtfulness of your guys' posts. I really do appreciate it!

I hope you all have a smooth speedy ride for the rest of your visa, adjustment of status and finally settling in journeys :)

I will definitely come by and have a chat once in a while, you guys are an awesome bunch and I hope the best for everyone.

Hello Everyone....

Its been a lil while since ive checked in...hahaha funny to see you all talking about the junk food here i send Ron over sour patch kids and gummy life savers and of course the recess cup (peanut butter cups) candy all the time he loves em....

MOONIE about the biscuts and gravy thing my australian man doesnt get it either...cuz biscuts are like cookies over there...hmmmm..he's actually mortified by the thought of it...hahaha ...but we've struck a couple of deals in this house..my daughter told him she'll try the vegemite if he'll try peanut butter and jelly together... and i also said i'll try vegemite if he trys the biscuts and gravy..yummo!!!! He of course feels like were getting the better of the deal but im not sure about that...

No real updates for us yet...I just listed some things on ebay to try and gather up some money for the plane fair...arggg...so frustrating that everything costs sooooo much!! thats what we get for being on opposites ends of the world i suppose....anyways just trying to stay patient till we can gather the money up so we can see each other for the first time...nice to see everyone moving along in their journeys....

Get er done yawll.....
