Our application is for a CR-1 (Conditional Resident = married less than 2 years). Yes, my expectations are mixed. Part of me is glad it wasn't filed away in a closet and lost, but part of me is like what now? Does it start over again like I just filed it yesterday in California? It seems a bunch of others were also forwarded to the CSC. In any case, I am SOOO HAPPY FOR YOU! I hope ours follows shortly. I want to make sure they have everything they need and no other issues arise. The waiting game sucks sometimes.

Ah thank you, yes that makes sense. Being transferred to CSC is probably a good thing in the long run as they are supposed to be the quickest...I'm sure yours is any day now.

I've sussed out the barcoding business and it seems pretty easy enough. Just waiting on the case number now which from what I've read between it arriving at the NVC; the case number assigned and the next step being generated unbelievably it could be up to a month...!!! It's no wonder we're looking for shortcuts.

My darling Kevin was approved Can't believe this incredible hurdle has been jumped! Now I am just a few weeks away from holding my sweetheart. After a hard days work I did today was nice to get this phone call afterwards.

Congrats Moonie and Kevin...hope the next few weeks are a blur...

LOL, Steve Irwin was THE Australian icon. He replaced Crocodile Dundee a long time ago. Everyone was affected heavily with his death. I can't say how many lives he has touched through his shows on Animal Planet on TV. So many little kids were infected by his "Crikey!" term.

They said about 4 - 10 working days for it to arrive in the post.... yippeeee

It means alot. I worked a convention yesterday and I was hurting from head to toe. I slept with an ice pack on my head! Good heavens. I don't think I have worked like that in a long time.

I asked Kevin about his interview he just said he was number 6. She asked him how did we met. Do we have a wedding date he said no but we have narrowed it down and I think that is about it. He said the interview was like 4 mins. He was quite shocked when she was like welcome to america. He was like "That's it" I think all in all his appointment was at 8 and he was done by 9:30. They are going to mail him his visa.

I think we both are just letting it all sink in!

I know he is going to miss Melbourne alot I am bracing for the homesickness. But I hope to keep him occupied with other things. If you catch my drift.

I so look forward to doing the little things with him.. having breakfast, going to the grocery store, going to the movies. And most importantly being his wife!

I hope that everyone had a lovely Mother's Day!

Hey Priscilla, the baseball game was great fun! The SF Giants killed the CO Rockies so we were the only ones cheering lol. I wasnt ready for a rendition of 'Take me out to the Ballgame' the whole crowd sang was just so cute...oh, oh and the food...we just had so much fun....I think I am just happy being married and hanging out together too, it's nice to feel contentment....you will be next.

We don't have wedding photos yet cause we didn't have a ceremony, so didn't wear out wedding outfits...we are going to get some professional pics done in a few weeks and have a special little ceremony. Will probably do it at a little old B&B somewhere in Manatou Springs.

Hi All!!

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit...arrived in Northern California last Monday afternoon...I have flown a lot..but that flight was a killer!!! Perth-->KL-->Taipei-->LAX-->San Jose! I was dead when I arrived...and then I got a cold:( not fun! Anyhow...slowly settling in..amazing to be here...with my partner in crime haha. I am going to apply for my SSN next week, they say you should only apply 2 weeks after arriving so your info is entered into the system.

Had a great POE officer at LAX...nice old guy...very friendly..Jokingly asked me if the Aussie guys are upset to have lost me to an American?!haha he was the complete opposite of the majority of the POE officers..they're all so serious, intimidating and stern. I also thought I would try my luck and ask him for an temp EAD stamp- didn't think I had anything to lose...he didn't exactly know what I was talking about..had to consult his guidebook of rules???and then proceeded to tell me that I can work on a k1 visa soon....which I have heard is not the case...

phew! So how is everyone else??

So glad it's beginning to be summer here...am definitely not missing the Aussie winter blues!

Hey Tamzo CONGRATULATIONS on your arrival and reunion. Welcome to the USA...not sure I am qualified to say that as I only arrived 2 weeks before that myself!

Kath was saying that you could be on the system sooner than 2 weeks so you may want to check. As I said in my last post, only took a week to get my SSN.
