hey everyone...

congratulations to everyone who's had some good news the past week...

I'm still waiting for ead/ap/aos here.. keeping myself busy with volunteer work though...

just thought i'd share with ya that my belongings are on their way, and my folks back in oz.. found an incredibly cheap shipping company to do it through

www.scorpioninternational.com

i had 20 Ctns @ 330.0Kgs / 1.300M3

and it came to, $760... before they found scopion the quotes were coming back at over 4 grand... i think that was for air freight though...

theyre based in newcastle nsw, so although i may not suit everyone, just goes to show it's definitely worth looking around a lot before you hand over huge amounts of money to any one company..... i thought i did while i was at home, but i missed this gem...

Interesting info on shipping, just might ask them for a quote eventually too.

Some little news. Andrew rang the USCIS today and they said our petition was in the active part now and we may hear something in 2 weeks. My spirits are lifted a little.

8-8-2005 Met in person in the US. Visa Waiver.

22-10-2005 Engaged.

2-11-2005 Flew back to Sydney. Many tears!

..................Interview went well, just waiting on Criminal History checks to post back with that envelopee and passport to get visa.

5-6-2006 Received Criminal History Check in the mail and posted off back to consulate with passport etc hoping for it's return with visa in two weeks.

14-6-2006 Passport and visa recieved in mail. Visa issued the 13th.

24-6-2006 USA here I come

26-7-2006 Received Social Security Card in less than 5 working days after applying.

Well had the medical today in Brissie. The ladies there were lovely, contrary to what I had heard and braced myself for. The doctor was a really nice man, a human even!!! All in all a day in the City with just a couple of pricks to put up with, had my MMR & ADT done whilst I was there hehehehe. Should have the results by next Monday!!!

Which is a good thing, cause when I get home, checked the mailbox and GUESS WHAT!!!!???? PACKET 4!!

INTERVIEW IN SYDNEY 10TH APRIL!!!!!! Oh. My. God.

2-28-2009 Sent in I-751

3-14-2009 Received I-751 back because they can't read

3-16-2009 Re-Sent I-751

3-17-2009 Received by Vermont

Waiting and watching the calendar flip ever so over closer to 4-2-2009 (When my 2 yr GC expires) . . .

Great info re the shipping jodie :thumbs: Newcastle is less then 2 hours north of me and I do have things to ship. Do you know what the timeframe is from departure to arrival?

All the best for to all of us waiting.....hope we all get good news soon on the stages we are up to.

12th Aug 2008 - Application received

14th Aug 2008 - Cheque cashed

18th Aug 2008 - Received NOA-dated the 12th

26th Aug 2008 - Received Biometrics letter

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

well it just might work for you lorelle, because my stuff actually left from sydney... it left sydney 14th march and is due to arrive in baltimore the 29th of april... so what's that? like five six weeks? not too bad, especially because i wasn't planning on getting it all before i got a job... now i think the big problem is where am i going to put all this stuff in our one bedroom apartment...? oh well, i'll have fun figuring it out!

the normal timeframe for shipping goods via sea is about six weeks. you may also have to factor in customs and quarrentine, also the fact that a ship may not be leaving sydney as soon as your stuff gets to the wharf.

all the stuff that i shipped actually sat in my movers warehouse for a few weeks cause the ship hadn't arrived in sydney at that time.

Thanx Jodie and Matt :thumbs: I will keep all that info in mind.

Just for anyone thats interested.....a bit of trivia.

I was watching Brainiac (stupid show :P ) and they conducted an experiment using various packaging around a TV and then threw it out the back of a fast moving van to see which packaging was best. They used amongst other things, styrofoam, foam and bubblewrap........Bubblewrap came out way on top with the TV in tip top condition just about and in working order. But you all knew that already hu :P

A question -- did you request 10 April, or did you ask for a first availble interview date? My sweetie and I are trying to guess a timeline (I know, very laughable) as to when he might get an interview . . . One month or less from filing the DS2001 sounds good to me!!

I sent back the packet 3 checklist etc the same day I got it, by express post ($4 envelope is big enough) so they got it on the Thursday, the packet four was sent out on the Monday, I got it on Wednesday. So roughly around a month or so once you have sent it back in.
