Thanks a million Hammy, I will check it out.

What I wanted to do was take one extra bag as excess luggage so that I have what i need to dress professionally when i get there and then send the rest via shipping cause it's stuff that I won't need for awhile.

Jake and I are checking out fly fishing ideas, how cool is that. Can't wait to get to colorado and try it!

You are more than welcome Lyndel

If you are looking for some fly fishing gear check out LL.BEAN

http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...1&langId=-1

I get their catalogues over here in oz

Hope this helps you with at least looking good in fishing gear,

not sure if it will help in anyway with catching the damn fish

Cheers

Paul

Hey Paul, awesome, thank you I will tell Jake to check out the link as well.

Meanwhile i will ensure i have a supply of choccies in case we can't catch a fishy for dinner (none of that hershey ####### though, no offence to any americans on here but cadbury choc is so so good! ;) )

I grew up at Tathra/Merimbula on the south east coast so am traditionally a salt water fisherwoman so this fly fishing is new to me, I am just hoping not to get water in my waders or to hook my ear or Jake's cause i am completely unco! Think this will test the marriage!! I keep telling Jake that he has to kiss the fish before he throws them back to which he says "Ewwww!!" what a wuss! Hope he doesn't read that....nuh i tell him when he's wussy! :hehe:

Hey Serendip, awesome, a road trip coast to coast that would be a lot of fun. Yeah, we are starting to make plans now and talk dreams etc, (like I want two alpacas in the back yard if we get a farm lol) it helps keep you focussed when things get a bit tough. We started our Visa Journey last May so it's been a long haul. Now I just can't wait, we are also planning a weekend in Vegas and camping up the Rockies when the weather warms up! It's Jake's birthday just after I arrive so I am thinking to make an aussie BBQ for him.

If anyone wants to make suggestions of what is typically aussie that we can have it would be much appreciated! Do we really have traditional aussie BBQ food besides maybe damper or beetroot?

I also told Jake not to buy too much in groceries before I come over because I love grocery shopping over there. I read all the packs, become fascinated with thingys like spray-on cheese and runover people with my trolley  (cause they push their trolleys on the same side as they drive). It's great fun!

Hammy, thank you for that eddiebauer link, will check it out...I have to say poor fish being kissed by Jake! I think he will be too chicken though. lol Now how many sleeps till your interview??? Most important thing to remember is all the papers in the order as the consulate requests. You'll be just fine though!

The LLBean site was good but jeeze waders are expensive and the fishing rods even more expensive. Choccy eating is a much more economical hobby!

Oh and KATH you need to get of that internet and get some sleep, sis! lmao :P

See ya

Aww, yeah we've done that dream talking sorta stuff lately too. We want a little maltese cross shitzu. I love cute little dogs. I'm usually scared of dogs, but I think I can handle little 5kg dogs hah.

We definitely want to stop by Vegas on our roadtrip and take a day hiking the grand canyon. That should be so much fun.

One thing I know mostly all aussies love is lamb! You should definitely have some lamb on that barbie. When corey was over about a month ago, he was completely bummed that Americans aren't as fond of lamb as aussies are. Whenever we went to a restaurant that had lamb (very few) that was his choice of meal without even looking at other things. So maybe that could be an option for something aussie.

Pavlovas are pretty aussie too aren't they? I've never seen a pavlova here in the states.

Man lol it's already almost 3am and here I am still surfing these threads and I have class later today.

I already want to start packing!!!

OOH daydreams are good...Eric and I were doing online furniture shopping today lol. I love dogs, all kinds. My parents have SIX dogs (not a typo - yes SIX). They are little mixed terriers. Eric has a half lab-half german sheppard girl, and she is just so lovable. I cant wait until we are a family! I just cant wait to nest!

Sere - Love the coast to coast roapd trip idea. I love road trips. Last time I was in the States, we drove down to Luray Caverns in Virginia - and it was just so much fun looking around at all these places I never been to.

OH and guess what?? Eric will be flying here in May!! He got time off and will be here for 2 whole weeks! Then soon after, I'll be joining my wonderful hubby.

Lamb and pavlova are pretty aussie! What else can ya cook for him Lyndel..hmm..ship some lamingtons? :P

I thought I was the only one who loved grocery shopping lol. Everytime his mom goes grocery shopping, I bolt to the car! Thought I like doing it here too, especially with Eric. I love doing "normal couple" stuff like that and cooking.

Paul -- its been said before, but it really the interview really is as easy as having paperwork in order! Goodluck!

Hope every1 is goood!

AWESOME! Welcome to the US Stephanie! What happened with the first woman? Did someone notice and then take over the processing? Damn some of these people. I am going to try and fly out to meet my wife at the POE (most likely LAX) when the time comes. Flying to Australia has it's perks. I didn't realize I accrued enough miles to do 2 or 3 coast to coast flights for $10.
