  CONGRATULATIONS on your visa approval Kym!

Thanks for the congrats and best wishes Vylex! Good luck planning your second wedding!

Kym, thank you for the congratulations too. I absolutely fell in love with my dress when I found it, it is knee length and straight lined and suited me well, unlike a lot of other things I tried on. Tony and I were going for a more casual look hence the short skirt and 'working whites' which are less formal than the dress whites. I found it in Myer I believe if you like it a lot you could always have a look.

The bouquet was a surprise gift from my Mum. She found it online in a store in my husbands hometown in LA and purchased it over the phone, conspiring with Tony to have us pick it up on the day. I loved it and it smelled absolutely beautiful too! I'm not sure what type of flower they are. Can anyone help out? It was nice to have something from my Mum on the day since she wasn't there.

Thank you Kath, Moonie, meowgirl, Sharyna,Poi n J (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!),tristessa, jodee (Less than two days to go till R&R! I'm so happy for you!)

What a lovely photo Rings & Loke. So romantic :D Thanks for the congrats Rings! How long was Robert "in" for Kath? Gotta love the Navy whites :D

Congratulations Moonie for getting a great full time job! It must be such a great feeling! Great wedding photos you two! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Katz! I see you got you NOA1 and you're getting some touches! Yay!

Oh, I see some late breaking news! ;) Congratulations Kath on picking up a job at K-Mart! Great news!

Now... a little update...

Today Tony & I drove up to the SS office. First of all, we waited for over an hour and a half and were there for 2 hours in total. According to the woman processing my SSN people actually arrive an hour and more before opening time (at 9am) in a bid not to have to wait around all day. Apparently a 1 1/2 hour wait is not so bad. :(

Anyway, it went okay, although not exactly to plan. I had to get my maiden name not my married name since they couldn't accept the marriage certificate we had (The notorised/sealed version of our marriage certificate won't be coming in the mail for another 4 or 5 weeks or more since it has a 6 week delay on it for some inane reason.)

Well, that was okay, we figure we'll just change it later when marriage certificate arrives. The other frustrating part was that they couldn't give me the number on the day. Apparently I will have to wait 10 or so days for the thing to come in the mail. Anyway, it is done now, I'm happy now even though it was a pain in the ### (the Social Security office is about an hour to an hour and a halfs drive north so it was a full day expedition). :D

Today we also picked up a driving hand book from the Maryland version of the DMV. For some reason MD has the MVA instead. *shrug*. I'll read it and then take the driving test, and hopefully have a license to drive around now!

Ironically, getting my miltary ID and all that stuff has been the EASIEST process of this whole thing. What a relief!

Lots of love to everyone!

Jess

Thats great news Kath!

Even though it is the opposition! ;);) (just joking!)

I love your dress Jezz, I just got mine from Noni B, it's just a really nice simple black dress, as I too am going for the casual look. So is it best that I wait until I am married to go for my SSN? I am not looking forward to all the paperwork when I get there, but I suppose it will give me something to do.

We finally got an apartment, Kevin moves in on the weekend, and I can't wait to get there and put a womans touch to the decor side of things!

I hope that everyone is doing well!

Take care,

Kell

CONGRATULATIONS! :) time for me soon enough!

My anxiety has relieved - just a little.

Apparently, there was a snag at NVC with my husband's AoS papers, in regards to joint sponsorship. Basically, they didn't put in 'N/A' where applicable, and just left it blank. *rolls eyes* Nit picky, but I guess anyone could come in afterwards and put in anything if they were devious enough.

So here I am, waiting to find out if they've sent the paperwork back yet or what, so I give him a call, and get his mother instead. She's sending it back tomorrow, but needs to call NVC again just to make sure thats all (because both herself, and her husband sent JS in, but they only sent back his, not hers, and hers has the same mistakes too. *shrugs*)

I blab too much :P

Anyway, so I'm thinking they send it in, 14 days to process, finally gets sent to Sydney. Till I call my husband. Apparently, it's processed!! It just needs this last paper, and then it's off to Sydney!!~ *dancetime*

*phew* And I need my Rubella shot and chicken pox, but thats easy enough *well, cept Chicken pox as it's a 6 week vaccine x.X* and well, even if they aren't required for the medical, I'd still rather have it. No problems with needles here... it's the getting nekkid part I don't like :P

The Beginning

September 29th, 1999 - 'hooked' up with Dave after chatting with him for about a year online.

October 23rd, 2004 - September 29th, 5 years to the day, he proposed to me =D

July 23rd, 2005 - Dave comes over for the wedding on July 27th at the beach :)

Sometime in December, he sends off I-130 to Texas and promptly leaves me in the dark like a mushroom x.X...

The Saga Continues *dumdeduuummm*

August - phone NVC. intriguing :\ Phoned again, ah hah! the truth... no record of us >< losers... Go and visit Dave for 3 months...

End of January, we sent the petition back in again. 2 weeks later, we actually get a number in our hot little hands.

April 5th - NOA2 approved!

April sometime, received and sent back Choice of Agent

May 18th - Received IV Bill

May 28th - Sent IV Bill MO back

June 11th - DS-230 generated

July 12th - Received and sent back DS-230 packet

July 19th - NVC Sent Husband checklist of AoS. They forgot to fill in N/A fills with.... N/A x.X

July 23rd - DS-230 entered

July 26th - NVC received checklist regarding financial suppliment (ie, got a talking to on the phone :P)

August 1st - sent financial papers back

August 3rd - (Automatic msg) Financial records lacking! ARGH!~

August 7th - Received actual fixed paperwork - 'processing'

August 17th - NVC COMPLETED CASE!~

September 10th - Received packet 3

September 17th - Medical in Brisbane

November 14th - Interview VISA GRANTED

December 8th - Landed in USA

Congrats to everyone who has seen movement in their journey over the last couple of weeks.

Kym - its wonderful to see you so happy, approval makes all the difference in the world I found...like a great weight is suddenly lifted :) and to you Valkyrie, congrats on yoru fiance getting through that final interview unscathed.

Kath - congrats on your job! I am trying to enjoy my enforced vacation but I am already looking forward to getting that EAD - I bet I will long for holidays again when I start working though lol

Jodee, hope your time together with yourh hubby goes slowly and blissfully for you. I'm sure you know already that every moment counts and I hope every single one of them is magical.

Good luck Niph, I am sure everything will go smoothly for you...I found shots were an easy thing to do too, and most of the time relatively painless.

Tony - keeping our fingers crossed for you that Bangkok looks favourably and that you finally get that visa in hand.

And for both the recent and impending weddings (first or second), my fondest wishes to you all, I hope your days have been/will be as perfect as ours was.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes, it really does mean so much. I feel like this huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders now. And it is awesome to actually be able to make some concrete plans for our wedding. We had planned one wedding before everything got screwed up with our I-129F petition and had to cancel so there was no way I was going to make all those plans again without knowing for sure he would be here on the designated day!

Jodee – just want to say enjoy your time with your hubby!!! We probably will not be hearing from you for 3 weeks. I can’t imagine how hard it would be going through those long deployments.

Jess – We do not have a Myers where I live, never even heard of it. So I googled it and I see it is an Aussie store…no wonder! lol But I must be retarded because I couldn’t even find a women’s clothing section for dresses. Is this the same store you are referring to? I plan on going out this weekend and looking around at Dillards, Nordstrom’s and Macy’s. I too want something casual but a little wedding like (if that makes any sense). I already have a formal wedding dress that I bought back at the beginning of the year for the first planned wedding. But now we are going much more casual and I do not want to wear it. I sure wish I could sell it to get some of my money back...UGH!!! As for your flowers, they are lilies. From what I can tell, I’d say they are trumpet lilies. That was such a nice surprise that your Mom (Mum) did for you. Lilies are one of my FAVS! Especially white. That is why when I saw your pics, I thought they were bea-u-ti-ful!

Kath – Congrats on getting a job! That is one thing that Darryl is worried about but I have all the confidence in the world. He is smart, charming and a hard worker (yes, I’m partial). Do you mind me asking how long it took you to get your EAD card. Isn’t it about 3 months from the time you apply?

Rings/Loke – that was a great wedding pic..very romantic looking. Although I had already peeked into your photos and seen some of your wedding pics.

Did anyone come over with an international drivers license and drive (legally) before they got their American license? I know I have asked about this before so I apologize. I have tried looking on the Missouri DMV site and it sucks. I need to just call them but have been putting it off because you normally have to wait forever before getting through to anyone with answers.

Best wishes to EVERYONE, wherever you are at in your jouney. This is certainly some ride!!!

hey kim

my first time in florida i was told i could drive on my valid aussie licence

as long as i had my passport with me at all times

i know it varies from state to state, but it seems to be that as long as you have authorisation from uscis to show that your in the country legally, they should issue a drivers licence
