Yes it may seems that way. But the topic is "How big was your proof package".

You have to remember, there are people here who are nervous & also some who are impatient. There are also some who will think that whatever proof they sent in, not matter how big, is not enough - until they get the approval.

Remember, all cases are different, what may be enough proof for one person may not be enough for another. What works for you may not work for another. There are different people reviewing the cases & that person may treat the cases differently. And as mentioned before, there are other factors to consider - country/consulate/embassy, red flags, etc, etc,.

Sending in 500 pages of proof may not mean much if you do not sent in the "right" proof (what they are asking for/want to see).

A better title would have been "what did you include as proof in your proof package?"

Well said Darnell and thekfc

Being my hubby is from a HIGH fraud country and the embassy in Lagos is known for foolishness, I felt I had to front load (heavily) our I-130 petition with as much evidence as possible. Who knows, it still may not be enough.

That said, I think Darnell and thekfc hit the nail on the head, it depends on each couple and the embassy where the interviews will be held on how much and what should be sent.

Hey - calm down a bit, the lot of ya ;)

Remember, You should really have some sense of that Embassy, prior to making the I-130 submittal, and of the two of you.

For example -

Canadian n American, young couple under 30, no previous marriages or children, interviewing in Montreal - HEY ! not need so much, as Montreal isn't considered a high fraud interview post.

or

Morroccan male, age 25, and American female, age 45 with prior divorce and 2 kids, interviewing in CasaBlanca - WHOOSH ! they 'fit the profile' for closer evaluation, this 'type of Union' gets super-scrutiny at CasaBlanca, sometimes to include Foreign Spouse 'house visits' and 'telephone interviews with his family and friends' and a mini-stokes interview on interview day.

So, the 'relationship pile' really is relative , both to YER BACKGROUND and WHERE THE INTERVIEW will be. There are other permutations, sure, there are other red flags that can pop up - but HEI ! Be Aware !!

Also remember - yer 'bonafide marriage evidence' pile is a 'living document' - it grows over time, ya?

So what you have 'available' on I-130 submittal day, is not the same amount that you have on 'Interview Day at the Embassy', which is not the same amount that you have for yer pile submitted for the 'Removal of Conditions' filing. WHEW !

Dear Darnell,

I agree to what you said but can you advise me I send only few documents with my !-130 petition, marriage certificate, rent agreement (But now she is in USA and I am in London and rent agreement was for London Flat) Affidavit from my Wifes mom, dad and one friend who attended our wedding, my wifes birth certificate, social security and forms thats it.

so can they request for more evidence. our was a complete arrange wedding.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Specific advice, to yer casefile? Alas, no...

But - a flat rental agreement in both names is useful. I assume you will be interviewing at the London US Embassy, and no where in India, yes? That's a good thing, and a bad thing. A good thing, in that London US Embassy is more civilized for handling immigration visas, and a bad thing, in that you'll still need to get all of the police clearance certificates from all the countries you've resided for the NVC processing stage. Is also a good thing, in that you don't have to muck about with VFS.

re: arranged marriage -that is looked at, sure, but as long as it wasn't some proxy marriage stuff, and the marriage has been consummated, yer golden.

just remember that yer 'evidence pile' grows over time. Review the instructions in the I-130 again, start collecting more evidence over time - there's 6 different types of evidence for you two to generate and collect. I know it's hard, when ya live apart, but it is do-able. I would suggest, if you are 'UK Passport Holder' - to get into USA sometime soonish, set up joint bank accounts with her in the USA.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

When you sent in your I 130 form, how many pages of proof of your relationship did you send it, we communicated a lot by windows live messenger, and have 1000 pages of convo. of me talking to my wife, my wife talking to my mom and sister, not including any pics or anything else, is that tooo much?

I sent in a sample of a year's worth of correspondence when i filed, and it was about 4 to 5 inches thick. I resented doing it, but that is what our lawyer advised us to do. The more documentation, the better, according to her. I wouldn't advise against it, and I know a few people that have been penalized for providing too little instead of too much.

Put the crucial evidence in the front behind the application. (crucial - copies of passports, identification cards, information that you know is required) then behind all of that I'd add photos that truly highlight your relationship (just a few, not the whole album) regarding chats maybe you could just pick a few and put them in a chronological order to establish ongoing communications?

You mean you didn't include samples of your urine? Did you at least two vials of blood? What about completely sequenced DNA from both of you? Video of you having sex?

I kid! I kid! But seriously, I have seen many people file their I-130 with the bare minimum of documents. They didn't include any photo, or cover letter, or any affidavits. They got their approvals just fine and in time. I know one person personally who took wedding picture with him to the interview at embassy.

I just find it so odd and Orwellian that people are willing give up your personal, intimate details to government. Sure you could share a log of you chat or phone calls; but, will you actually share the chat itself and the call to a random stranger in USCIS?

I didn't send any picture, affidavits, etc with my I-130. Just the required document. I don't expect any trouble. However I would be quite surprised if I get an RFE for not sending pictures or any of the said materials you all have included in your file.

Indigo skies I sent only completed forms required documents plus the check!! no evidence what so ever and no cover sheet.. It was fine!!

Not sure I would want to include many of mine and my wife's conversations :o

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
