There's no Ignorance involved, but perhaps a lot of naivite about the acceptance of Muslims as Americans in this country. The slap in the face is from you and your ilk to the families of the innocent Muslims who were murdered that day.

You see, Muslims don't see themselves as you do - terrorists, misogynists, ** haters, etc. That's your ignorant vision of us. We see ourselves as family members, business owners, college students, workers, voters, Children of God, taxi drivers, and valuable members of our American communities. So, if we do something like want to build a community center or expand a mosque, we're not expecting to be spat on, ridiculed, and demeaned in a way that teaches several generations of our fellow countrymen that it's ok to nullify our civil, constitutional and human rights because you wrongly associate all Muslims with terrorism and that hurts your feelings.

Of course, I'm sure that mosque and community center will be very accepting of homosexuals and all women who choose to live the way they want to. I'm sure it will be so diverse and actually let men and women pray side-by-side. I mean after all, this is about tolerance isn't it? We'll see how tolerant and non-hyprocrites they are.

Ain't that the truth. I mean... seriously... do bigots deserve respect? Not all of the families of 9/11 victims are against this mosque, nor do the people protesting this mosque or these pseudo-celebrity figures showing up in support of them have the right to take part in bigoted acts against what are essentially strangers.
