wha is the benefit (if any) of my wife getting a new filipino passport in her married name?

seeing as how it seems complicated and she needs to attend the same seminar before applying for the passport as she does when she gets her visa is there any reason why she wud need to get a new passport? last one she got before we were married. her married name is on her id..i cant think of what its called

The number one reason is because you just really never know when it might cause a problem (real or not) and by then it's too late to avoid the issue because you're already in it.

Think of it like insurance, if all goes well then not doing it never impact anything but it it becomes an issue even once it could be such a big issue that can't believe you saved a little time & money but now find yourself in such a situation because of it.
