Darnell, sweetie. Really. If you took a moment to read some of the posts in this very thread, you'd see that VJ has ALWAYS been this way. Sorry to get all quasi-legacy member on you, but some of us have been here longer than you and we seem to recall the VJ of (relative) yore not as a happy-clappy-kumbaya idyll, but the dirty, complicated playground it still is. I was here in 2008 when you joined, and this place weren't Camelot.

Many of these 'old timers' that hang around in OT, like to 'stir the pot'.

It's one or more of

--flame-baiting

--name calling

--racist speech

--references to racist speech

--carry overs of prior 'thread-wars' with new attempt to 'win'

--personal attacks

--defamation of character

--sexual innuendos

VJ, even in OT forum, is NOT the place for this. It 'grew' into this, but come on - it's NOT the place for this. This is a 'Family Immigration Web Portal' and this type of behavior needs to stop.

If these 'old timers' decided, en masse, to stop making posts that covered things from this list, then this discussion would be moot.

If you really have a grudge, if you really want to pick on someone here because of prior altercations - hey ! Give it a rest !

But listen - this is all down to choice, ya? You've made a choice to hang out here, you've made a choice to throw-down in OT. Conscious or unconscious, drunk or sober, you made a choice.

Choices have consequences, always, yes? Keep making 'those choices' and 'other stuff' happens, ya ?

You could, of course, make another choice - to find the RIGHT WEB PORTAL to play in. VJ, these days, isn't the right web portal for you.

The thing is, as AJ pointed out - those things you listed are already against the TOS and are the basis of the site moderation (in theory at least).

Simply sitting there and saying people need to leave isn't going to result in anything, it's just hot air.

If you have a radical idea of how to improve things you should suggest it to the mods. Coming up with some arbitrary list of posters whose behaviour you disapprove of and who should be summarily excluded as a result just isn't going to happen.
