And when the same general subject gets reposted, the same arguments are going to come up time and again. So your point is?

Actually this one's kinda new. Even a repeal of the 14th Amendment, the argument goes,

won't do us any good if an illegal alien mother can falsely claim that the father is

a US citizen. All they need is a name of a US citizen to put on the birth certificate

and they're golden.

If the mother is an illegal alien, then proof of citizenship for the other parent would be a no-brainer and would need to be a legal requirement to be effective. There is no way around that.

As for the general subject of the argument, it's still the 14th Amendment and its place in the illegal immigrant issue.

Same old same old.

I suppose it would prove the child is the Fathers but again that is a precedent I don't favor.

it could be a montiel williams moment when that dna test comes back. :hehe:

DNA testing has revealed that fifteen percent of those men named on a child's birth certificate are not the biological father of the child. Thirty percent of the men accused of paternity and tested for paternity are not the biological father of the child.

link

There is a general consensus that at least 20 percent of fathers are supporting a child that is not actually theirs.

The states are already doing that to go after fathers of welfare babies to get them to pony up to their responsibilities. This is nothing new and has been going on for quite a while. Why should the taxpayer have to pay if the father is capable of doing so?

I will concede your point on testing. However welfare and birth are different. A hospital is not going to chase around looking for a father to do DNA testing on to get paid for the birth of the baby when Medicaid will all ready cover the expenses.
