Congrats!

What sequence of notifications did USCIS send to you regarding EAD

So far we have had card production ordered twice recently and yesterday the USCIS dashboard circle switched from card production to post decision and the related message indicated they had mailed a notice informing us that EAD had been approved.

Jim !! you should take many photos of the EAD cards, in and around town these next few days, make up a 'Where's Waldo'-ish montage, maybe even make a youtube video.

I know I know, is ironic, yes? But there's some bitter hilarity thrown in, just for good measure.

I absolutely loathe these many disconnects within USCIS - and this is one of them.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I don't pay that much attention to the online status system because it's so notoriously unreliable. I remember it said card production a couple of weeks ago, and then post decision activity a day or two later. It's been at least a week since it switched to post decision activity.

I wish we had time for some fun around town, but we're going to be pretty busy. My wife's family has some descendants from the Nguyen Dynasty emperors of the 19th century, so they have a big get-together every year to celebrate. This year the celebration is at her uncle's house. She and my step-son are over there now helping to prepare food for the big feast tomorrow. It's a whole day of stuffing yourself with Vietnamese food, drinking Heineken, and chatting about stuff. They take up a donation at the end to help pay for the upkeep on the family temple in the village in Vietnam for another year. I was practically required to take my wife to the temple in December before we left Vietnam so that the dead ancestors could "approve" of our marriage. I plan to get completely sauced tomorrow - maybe I'll be more generous.

Monday and Tuesday we're going to be spending all of our spare time preparing for the interview.

I guess I should at least try to photocopy the cards. The kids were going "ooh" and "aah" over the holographic image on the card. :P

Jim, take the cards to the party - have each person attending (Not yer family) hold up the cards, under their faces, take a photo (or 100 photos)

then show the cards with the food, then by the beer, then then then..

You get the idea.

In a few years, will be something great to laugh about.

(Alternatively, take the kids in on Monday for SSA office, get SSNs )

My husband received his EAD card just a couple of days before the interview. We took it with us in case it was needed, but our interviewer did not ask for it, so we still have it. Even though it is useless, I like having it as a reminder of another part of the process accomplished. Maybe you won't have to turn in yours. I wouldn't mention that they arrived unless you are asked. Good luck at the interview!

Congrats!! :)

Like Menina said, they don't always take them at the interview. I still have mine! It's completely useless, but it may make a nice addition to a scrap book one day.

Good luck at your interview!

Yay, congratulations Jim and Mrs. Jim!!

I agree with previous posters. TAKE PICTURES! And lots of 'em! I didn't take any pictures of mine because I look like a drowned rat with no sleep in the picture.... sadly it'll be stuck with me for two years.

But I digress. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!
