Hi,

Sorry for that, some how the page refreshed while I was typing.

Lets try again.

My wife is sponsoring her brother and his wife(we just added her to the petition). And we were told to fill out 2 I-864(one for her brother and the other one for his wife). Is that correct?

This is where the confusing part comes in.

On the first I-864(part 2) we enter her brother as the "principal immigrant" (part 3) #8 I put a check mark for "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above" and a check mark for "yes" right on below, and leave blank for the "no (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)" box. (part 3) #9 I put a check mark for "I am sponsoring the following family member......) and fill out his wife information or do I leave it blank and not put a check mark on #9?

On the second I-864 [if we need to fill out one for her sister-in-law] Does her brother's wife(sister-in-law) name goes on (part 2) of the form, also as the "principal immigrant"? and mark yes on #8 and do I fill in her brother's info on #9 or leave it blank also.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

This has given me headaches for couple weeks now.

I called USCIS and ask for help and she said can't help me, because they can only give out general information.?!?

I told her, isn't that general information I'm not asking for any personal questions. Just how to fill out the forms.

"well, I don't want to misguide, I can give you a website where you can get free legal service."

Aren't they suppose to know this stuff?

So I decided to google it myself and ended finding this wonderful and helpful web site.
